Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Continuing to ponder Chapter 7 on the interior practices which help us live “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary” as described by St. Louis de Montfort:

1. But how difficult it is for us to have the freedom, the ability and the light to enter such an exalted and holy place. This place is guarded not by a cherub, like the first earthly paradise, but by the Holy Spirit himself who has become its absolute Master. Referring to her, he says: “You are an enclosed garden, my sister, my bride, an enclosed garden and a sealed fountain.” Mary is enclosed. Mary is sealed. The unfortunate children of Adam and Eve driven from the earthly paradise, can enter this new paradise only by a special grace of the Holy Spirit which they have to merit.

1. When we have obtained this remarkable grace by our fidelity, we should be delighted to remain in Mary. We should rest there peacefully, rely on her confidently, hide ourselves there with safety, and abandon ourselves unconditionally to her, so that within her virginal bosom:

1. We may be nourished with the milk of her grace and her motherly compassion.

1. We may be delivered from all anxiety, fear and scruples.

1. We may be safeguarded from all our enemies, the devil, the world and sin which have never gained admittance there. That is why our Lady says that those who work in her will not sin, that is, those who dwell spiritually in our Lady will never commit serious sin.

1. We may be formed in our Lord and our Lord formed in us, because her womb is, as the early Fathers call it, the house of the divine secrets where Jesus and all the elect have been conceived. “This one and that one were born in her.”

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your Faithful; kindle in us the Fire of Your Love.
Mary, Mother of the Church, intercede for us.
Jesus, I trust in You!

Thank you for following your path to our Lord MariaChristi … it is also my path to our Lord … and I have a great love for it.

I do want to say, however, that we need to realize that others have their own paths … and it was quite wrong of me the other day to try to push someone down my own path, rather than respecting their own. There are many roads to our Lord and many roads to get to Heaven … may we all be blessed on our journey.

Yes, dear Katherine,

We need to be aware always that the Holy Spirit is sent to bring us into all Truth. Jesus is our Way, our Truth and our Life and only by God’s grace can we learn anything! Each of God’s children is a unique and unrepeatable creation of His. No two of us is exactly alike – by His design!

The Body of Christ a beautiful truth revealed to us; Ephesions 4, especially verses 15-16:

…living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into Him who is the head,l Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body’s growth and builds itself up in love.

I never intended to “push” anyone but rather to share the beauty in Mary as Jesus told us from His Cross: “Behold Your Mother”. In reading the words of saints like St. John Paul II, St. Teresa of Calcutta and St. Louis de Montfort I find encouragement to continue learning God’s Will. Each saint is different yet each one teaches us by the holy lives they lived. It is sad to me but these words of St. John Paul II spoken in 1982 echo in my heart :

…For its birth and growth, apostolic work looks to her who gave birth to Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit. Where the Mother is, there too is the Son. When one moves away from the Mother, sooner or later he ends up keeping distant from the Son as well. It is no wonder that today, in various sectors of secularised society, we note a widespread crisis of faith in God, preceded by a drop in devotion to the Virgin Mother.

I thank God for your love of Jesus and Mary and I trust in Him to increase my own love. Let us pray please for one another and for the Church, that we may live faithful to His Grace as Mary lived on this earth.

Come Holy Spirit kindle in us the Fire of Your Love.
Jesus, we trust in You.

I love your devotion to our Lady … and as I said yesterday I follow the same path … but as I told you in another thread, I do not follow it in the same way you follow it … I have consecrated myself to our Lady through de Montfort’s teachings, but I do not take all his teachings word for word. I go through our Lady to Jesus at times … but most of the time I go directly to Jesus. That does not mean I am not devoted to our Lady … but I do not always use her as the path to her Son … however, I do at times.

I studied to be a nun when I was younger … it didn’t work out in the end … but although we were taught to be devoted to our Lady, we were also taught to do all things in our daily life for the love of Christ and in obedience to Him alone.

I just felt that I needed to clarify my previous statements.

Thanks for your replies. I do understand – we are all different and our love for Jesus and Mary can be expressed very differently. God created each one unique and unrepeatable. He knows our hearts and He continues to invite us into deeper and deeper relationship with Him.
