Angel Question

I was a reading a blog post regarding St. Thomas Aquinas’ belief about Angels. This blogger translate Aquinas as saying:

Moreover all corporeal creatures are guarded by the “Virtues”;

Does this mean that animals have angels?

I don’t think so. It just means that the different choirs of angels are each assigned to different jobs. I think it may mean that the “animal kingdom” has angels that watch over it in the same manner that churches have their own angels and even the physical universe has its own angels keeping planets moving in their orbits, stars where they belong etc. Meanwhile the seraphim chant “Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus…” continually before the throne of God (it’s their job).

That’s my take, at least.
