Angelic Script

I realize this is a very old thread, however, I was compiling some information for a friend and come across the forum and wanted to post to clear a few things up.

I work as a Theology and History professor and I noticed a few inconsistencies in the information provided in this thread. First, Angelic Script isn’t really considered a legitimate language by any major Christian faith or credible historians.

There are two forms that are commonly referred to in popular culture and television. The first would be Heinrich Agrippa’s creation which is typically referred to as either Angelic or Celestial Script. It is a derivative of the Hebrew and Greek alphabets and he created it in the early 16th century. Agrippa indicated he created the language as a means of communicating with Angels. While Agrippa did research occult matters he was primarily an intellectual and wasn’t really an occult practitioner. So his version had nothing to do with spells, incantations or any other magik hokum.

The second “language” which is often sited in movies and television would be Enochian. This was created by Dr. John Dee with assistance from Sir Edward Kelly in the late 16th century. Dee and Kelly did not refer to the language as Enochian, that name was given later likely due to Dee claiming that Enoch was the last individual to speak the language. Most of Dee’s writing refers to it in terms such as Angelical or Celestial. The alphabet of Enochian is completely created and may have loosely been based on Hebrew or Cuneiform or even a mix of the two. It’s structure is comical and no serious theologian or credible historian would think of it as anything but a fabrication. The structure is no where near any kind of ancient language and actually seems to have an English derived grammatical structure.

There’s nothing in any version of any biblical text that indicates either of these “languages” were divinely inspired. Although, of the two, Enochian is really the only one that has been and likely is still used by occultists and new age groups. Which, at least in my opinion, kind of detracts from the any legitimacy they might seek.

I’ve seen this Prophecy movie and the symbols used are closer to Agrippa’s language, but aren’t exactly the same and seem to have been concocted for the movie. I saw mention in previous posts that it might relate to Kabbalah or Jewish mysticism. That is incorrect, Judaism doesn’t use any type of symbolic lettering, pictograms or runes and instead utilizes the Hebrew alphabet.

So in summary the content of that movie was pure fiction.

I’ve been extremely interested in the history of angels and appearances and stuff (as if the majority of you haven’t noticed) and what is the deal with angelic script? I recently saw the movie The Prophecy (great movie, it’s a ‘what if’ movie and it really makes you think) and in it there’s a little bit on angelic script. I’ve been trying to do some research and stuff but all the websites I’ve found are less than Catholic. There are some Kabbalah sites that explain it a little but a lot of them are ‘demonology’ sites and Wiccan sites. I would drop my research now but it’s so interesting and I haven’t had a drive to continue with something like this for such a long time. I feel more comfortable with the Kabbalah sites than any thing else but they are so limited. So I guess what I’m asking is this: Is there angelic script? Has any of it been revealed to humans? And, if so, where on earth can I find it?
Read Milton’s " Paradise Lost". It is beautifully written and even comes in laymens versions so that even a mangy dog like myself can read and understand it.

Stay with catholic sources-otherwise you would be dabbling in angel idolatry.

It’s made-up stuff. Some of it was made up longer ago than others.

If I recall correctly, the most notorious use of “angelic script” was the gullible astrologer Dr. Dee, who got involved in this long-drawn out thing with a guy who claimed to be able to read “angelic script”. Nice con game if you can get it…

Anyway, why would angels want to write stuff down? They’re pure spirits without bodies, they’re eternal, and they can be anywhere in a flash. If they wanted to tell you something, they wouldn’t have to write you a letter! 😉
I TOTALLY AGREE. Spiritual beings can communicate without need for physical form of any kind.

Angelic script is at its essence is shrouded in mystery on purpose. It is written into lore and stories about King Solomon controlling demons. It is said he named each demon with angelic script and placed this symbol on jars. Magick today uses these symbols to try and evoke (physically manifest) angels and demons to do their biddings in enochian magick. There are also other uses of this script. As far as I have researched, King Solomon was the wisest of all the Earth of all time. Why his downfall with worshipping other Gods? It is the downfall of curiosity killed the cat. These demonic forces will use knowledge against you and draw you into dangerous grounds. They open a door to your soul that way, and you let them in to control, corrupt, and destroy you.

Stay away from the research. As with all kotodamas, the more they are used, the more they resonate with an intended purpose. Simply opening the Keys of Solomon can lead to such dangerous demonic attacks, you could be in real trouble. Starts with the headaches, followed by the dreams and visions, then the noises, and will keep getting worse. Simply thinking about a symbol in your mind, or saying it can call forth that vibration.

Just simply avoid your search… All angels are simply messengers. They bring something… They are a different class of creation, we can not turn into angels. The more you try to learn about angels, the more you are going to expose yourself to false information. The new age movement is big on channeled angelic information. What each angel smells like, roses for this one, lilies for this one, etc. Colors seen in their visions, etc. But it is specifically forbidden in the bible to obtain information in this manner. It is dangerous because you do not know for sure where the information is coming from and no way to back it up. And I suspect that there is a lot of channeled information from demonic sources meant to lead God’s people astray.

Just know it is a very dangerous path, that could jeopardize your soul, and those around you when you bring something bad around you.

Isn’t that a double standard to tell people not to research something but you yourself have researched it? “Do as I say, not as I do.”

Double standard that got me several demonic attacks, that cost me my marriage and my 5 yr old was the primary target of a lot of the attacks.

So it is a simple warning, I lost my christian faith because the Catholic church didn’t believe the devil was real when I went to them for help. They told me the devil was just an idea, to teach lessons. Had I not found the right help, i would have been in a much darker place than I was.

So do as you choose, I am simply letting you know the cost it had for me was nearly my soul.

I have read the works of Lavey, Crowley and some Hubbard. Never have I or my family been “demonically attacked”. Sometimes curiosity makes the cat smarter. I don’t know what happened to you and your family. But maybe the Catholic Church didn’t want another Lutz scandel and smelled one on you.

That attitude is why I left the church. It is the same principle with people that go ghost hunting, or use a ouija board. Sometimes bad things happen, and it doesn’t make crazy or a phony. There are also protections you can do before each, but even then bad things have happened. So you don’t have to believe me. Not my problem, I am done with this forum.

‘Angelic script’ was a creation by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa in the 16th century, according to Wikipedia. It is suppose to be used when trying to communicate with angels.
