What verses in the Qu’ran deal with angels? Most specifically, the angel Gabriel.

Here’s a small sample 🙂

Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah’s will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,- [S. 2:97]

They say: “Why is not an angel sent down to him?” If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them. If We had made it an angel, We should have sent him as a man, and We should certainly have caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion. [S. 6:8-9]

Say: “I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me.” Say: “can the blind be held equal to the seeing?” Will ye then consider not? [S. 6:50]

Perchance thou mayest (feel the inclination) to give up a part of what is revealed unto thee, and thy heart feeleth straitened lest they say, “Why is not a treasure sent down unto him, or why does not an angel come down with him?” But thou art there only to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth all affairs! [S. 11:12]

“I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer.” [S. 11:31]

When she heard of their malicious talk, she sent for them and prepared a banquet for them: she gave each of them a knife: and she said (to Joseph), “Come out before them.” When they saw him, they did extol him, and (in their amazement) cut their hands: they said, “Allah preserve us! no mortal is this! this is none other than a noble angel!” [S. 12:31]

Say, “If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for a messenger.” [S. 17:95]

Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects. She said: “I seek refuge from thee to (Allah) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah.” He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son. She said: “How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?” He said: “So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, ‘that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us’:It is a matter (so) decreed.” [S. 19:16-21]

If ye two turn in repentance to Him, your hearts are indeed so inclined; But if ye back up each other against him, truly Allah is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every) righteous one among those who believe,- and furthermore, the angels - will back (him) up. [S. 66:4]

[all translations Yusuf Ali]

Angels “Harut” & “Marut” performing deeds of magic in (Quran 2:102):

*“They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: “We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme.” They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah’s permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!”

In authentic and very important hadith, angel Gabriel NOT identifying himself and using force with Muhammed :hmmm::

*Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:
"The Prophet added, “The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, ‘I do not know how to read.’ Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, ‘I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?’ Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.” (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah’s Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, “Cover me! Cover me!” They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, “I fear that something may happen to me.” Khadija replied, “Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones.”

Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the PreIslamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, “Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!” Waraqa asked, “O my nephew! What have you seen?” Allah’s Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, “This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out.” Allah’s Apostle asked, “Will they drive me out?” Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, “Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly.” But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while. Dont know if I have missed on some, sure some muslims can help.

Holy ****, that sounds like satan!!! Didn’t it also say he had a “dreadful voice” -?

For the record, I didn’t type the S word, I said C-R-A-P.

Thats strange cause muslims say he was illiterate, and so does mohammed accept that, but than later on he could recite the whole quran as most muslims say. So if he was so good at memorising, how come he stayed illiterate?

That would be the worst case scenario…, if that was true then the question would be why God allowed satan to deceive Muhammed and billions of Muslims after that!

Well there isn’t really any good explanation as to God would “allow it” but many false prophets have gone out into the world.

“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” -2 Corinthians 13-15

Out of curiosity, what religion are you?

Did someone post where angels will not enter a house with a dog in it?

Oops. That one is in the ahadith, not the Qur’an.

Still, it says that angels will not enter where there is a dog. 🤷

Yes Ralph, it’s in the hadiths and not in the koran.

Maimuna reported that one morning Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) was silent with grief.

Maimuna said: Allah’s Messenger, I find a change in your mood today.

Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Gabriel had promised me that he would meet me tonight, but he did not meet me.

By Allah, he never broke his promises, and Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) spent the day in this sad (mood).

**Then it occurred to him that there had been a puppy under their cot. He commanded and it was turned out.

He then took some water in his hand and sprinkled it at that place.

When it was evening Gabriel met him and he said to him: you promised me that you would meet me the previous night.

He said: Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.

Then on that very morning he commanded the killing of the dogs until he announced that the dog kept for the orchards should also be killed, **but he spared the dog meant for the protection of extensive fields (or big gardens). (Book #024, Hadith #5248)

We have free will. GOD wants us to choose HIM on our own without being forced.

It is not so much that GOD allows Mohammad and satan to decieve as it is the billions of Muslims choose to follow and be mislead by Mohammad/allah/Quran/satan.

Well no one escapes Satan. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan. So I think this worst case scenario is very possible.

Does anyone know where it said “Gabriel” had a “dreadful voice” -?
