I was wondering if someone could tell me The Angelus Prayer and the Divine Mercy Chaplet? God Bless!

The Angelus

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary:
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of
our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

Hail Mary . . .

And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary . . .

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

the Chaplet of Divine Mercy

(on a regular rosary)
  1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and The Apostles Creed.
  2. Then on the Our Father Beads say the following:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
  3. On the 10 Hail Mary Beads say the following:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
(Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades).
  1. Conclude with (three times):
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The Angelus (English)

The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
Be it done unto me according to thy word.

Hail Mary…

And the Word was made Flesh.
And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary…

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an Angel, may by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Angelus (Latin)

Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariae;
Et concepit de Spiritu Sancto.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

Ecce ancilla Domini.
Fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.

Ave Maria…

Et Verbum caro factum est.
Et habitavit in nobis.

Ave Maria…

Ora pro nobis, sancta Dei Genetrix.
Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.

Oremus.
Amen.

The Angelus can be listened to in Latin with English subtitles here.

In my dad’s Catholic prayer book, the Angelus concludes with the usual:

“Pour forth we beseech you O Lord, your grace into our hearts that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ your son was made known by the message of an angel may be brought by his Passion and cross to the glory of his Resurrection through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”

and then adds: “May the divine assistance remain with us always and may the soul’s of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.”

I usually say the last part at Mass too when the priest asks us to pray for the departed.
