Hello,

I just bought a Angelus Press Roman Catholic Daily Missal 1962, tried to set it for the daily mass today and I am completely lost!

Can anyone help me with the exact page numbers for the placement of ribbons for:
  1. Today Tuesday, 5th May 2015?
  2. This sunday’s Latin Mass (Tridentine)
this is my first time using it and I am really completely lost
will be most grateful if someone could advise me on the exact page numbers:blush:

God bless!

Marilyn

For the NO, Sunday, May 3rd, was the Fifth Sunday of Easter. Sunday, May 10th, will be the Sixth Sunday of Easter. Easter was Sunday, April the 5th; Divine Mercy Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter, was Sunday, April 12th; the Third Sunday of Easter was April 19th; the Fourth Sunday of Easter was April 26th.

According to the 1962 calendar, however, Easter was April the 5th. Low Sunday was April the 12th, and was the first Sunday after Easter, although it wasn’t called that. You have the Second Sunday After Easter as April the 19th; April the 26th was the Third Sunday After Easter; May 3rd was the Fourth Sunday After Easter; and May 10th will be the Fifth Sunday After Easter. So according to one method of reckoning, you can call a day “The Sixth Sunday **of **Easter”, and at the same time you can call the same day “The Fifth Sunday **After **Easter”, depending on how you start your count. So if you’re looking for the Fifth Sunday After Easter, that would be p. 641+ in mine.

If you go to the NO Mass tomorrow, it will probably be referred to as “The Tuesday of the Fifth Week of Easter” in the missalette. Although I’m not lucky enough to have an FSSP parish near enough to attend, I would expect most of them to celebrate the Feast of St. Pius V (p. 1192).

I’m sure I’ll be corrected if I’m wrong, but I hope that helps. 👍

If you attend an EF Mass, the feast of St. Pius V would be celebrated and the readings as follows:

virgomaterdie.com/1962_propers/2015/may/may5.html

That would be on Page 1192 of the Angelus Press Missal (2004 printing)

Ordinary of the Mass, of course, starts at p. 838

All 1962 propers can be found here to check against

virgomaterdie.com/1962_propers/

This Sunday’s Mass would be the 5th Sunday after Easter, p. 641
