Anger at annoying teenagers

To be frank, I drove around like an idiot listening to thumpy loud music as a teen. I’m reaping that karma now for sure lol

The teens are now gunning their moped engines since our ice is melting and the roads are driveable. I hate spring lol…ice keeps the little farts away using bus system.

I have noise sensitivity due to fibromyalgia so loud noises just irritate me and make me crabby. Not to mention engine noise wakes me out of a dead cold sleep at 2am.

It’s just a bunch of random teens…I can’t say who what where. I miss when our house was the country …oh well!

Any saints to pray to for help? I use earplugs and white noise but still…oy.

I can’t help you, but I can commiserate. I, too, have a hard time dealing with sounds - and it doesn’t take much. I live in the country so the people noises aren’t too bad, but I’d rather listen to a cow moo all day than to kids on mopeds or bass thumping.

If I ever have to move into down, I sincerely hope I’m deaf.

Have you had the “pleasure” of sitting by a car in traffic that emits the low thumping bass sounds at such intensity it physically hurts? I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Oh I know what you are talking about!!!

I have also noticed when the weather warms up, all the folks get their motorcycles out, some of them pass me on the road, they are so loud, it does literally hurt my ears, I cant believe they do not get pulled over for that, has to be some kind of regulation on mufflers/ engine silencing…right? I enjoy riding bikes, but I cannot imagine how annoying that would be to ride a loud bike like that! I guess they do it to draw attention to themselves or the bike…who knows? lol

As for loud motorbikes, it is usually the male of the species that owns them. It must be the aural equivalent of scent marking.

I live a few miles from a Harley dealership and I hear those blasted bikes roaring along the main drag all day and night! I can’t stand being next to one of those obnoxious beasts! I think I got extra sensitive hearing to make up for my poor eyesight. Guys are supposed to love loud engines - Nascar and all that - but not me.

Its kind of ironic. I am drawn to quiet, even silence, but I:
Have lived within a mile of LAX my whole life, with the constant thunder of jet engines,
Worked in construction most of my adult life, with every loud, miserable noise one can imagine, all going on at once,
and to top it off, my mom, who is hard of hearing but refuses hearing aids, keeps the TV volume at 50 whenever I visit.

Im the same way, I do like motorcycles and sports cars though, I love the sound of a V12 Lamborghini engine, I also like the sound of ‘souped up’ V8s like you would find in muscle or pro street cars, some level of loud is tolerable, but when it gets to the point that it hurts your ears, like a majority of these harley davidson type bikes, that is not necessary and only done for vanity, drawing attention to yourself.
