Hi folks, I’ve posted a few questions regarding sin that merits confession - I’m a newbie Catholic so thank you all for your patience.

Today I walked into town to renew a travel card I hadn’t used in 5 years. I arrived at the bus depot only to find that it wasn’t open on the weekend then I walked to the first train station only to find it was being renovated so there were no ticket offices available there. By the time I walked to another train station I was quite exhausted and asked for a travel card The guy said that they don’t take old photos from your old travel card to put in new travel cards so I had to pay for a new ID photo which I can ill afford (I’m starting a new job on Monday and I need every penny for the commute for the whole of April) So I got them then I went back to the same guy only to find out that there are additional zones made the travel card far more expensive than I had anticipated and had to decline the purchase.
While I was a bit annoyed at the guy, he kept on leaving his seat for ages, I bore him no ill will. I was extremely furious in general in part at the travel company (That same card was never this complex to purchase and significantly cheaper a few years ago), being needlessly down on much needed cash and in part over how the whole situation panned out. Physical tiredness in this case contributed a lot to how I felt.

I did go to my Chapel tonight to confess my anger but the Priest was unavailable so I’m taking this opportunity to ask everyone if I need to confess this?

A priest told me once it’s not sinful to feel anger, it’s what you do with the anger.

It sounds like you were just exhausted and frustrated. Personally, I don’t think it actually needs to be confessed. But by all means, if it makes you feel better to do so, there wouldn’t be anything wrong with that.

Thank you very much for your advice I wasn’t sure about what was sinful and what wasn’t regarding anger. 🙂

‘Know this, my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God.’ James 1:19-20

Dr. Ray makes me angry. 🙂

Seriously, though, he gives good advice from what I’ve seen. He tries to be funny too much, though, on camera. That’s just my opinion, of course.

If I were you, I’d pray for some money so that you can get the card. Hopefully, you’ll get the card soon. You’ll feel better once you get it.
I wouldn’t worry about the anger. If you were independently wealthy, the whole thing would have been easier. It’s just not having money and super duper strength that resulted in the anger, IMHO.

St. Jerome used to hit himself with a rock every time he lost his temper. I’d be dead as a doornail with no ribs if I did that. - Mother Angelica

I moved your thread over to Spirituality category as this isn’t really a topic for Traditional Catholicism.

I would have been annoyed too and as long as you didn’t have a temper tantrum and yell at the clerk, I don’t think there is any sin here. Annoying situation is annoying.

I do see an opportunity to offer a frustration up to God as reparation for sin and for the poor souls in Purgatory.
