Hello my friends,

Recently, for whatever reason, these two boys have snickering whenever they walk past me. They tend to take it to an ever greater length when they just walk up to a bin where my friends and I to irk me even more. They are a few years younger than me, but even so, my anger problem has started to set in. Needless to say, in every spare moment apart from homework or study, all I can think about is just brutalising them in the most horrific ways,i.e. breaking their arms, busting their heads open, repeatedly smashing their head against the ground with my foot. I’ve realized that such thoughts aren’t healthy but I’ve been prone to having such contemplation for years now. If you could mr advice that I can quell such feeling, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you my friends.

Take it to confession.

Sin aside, this is not good for your mind, because it gins up stress you can do nothing to burn off.

Well. You could start with praying for them.

Then the next time they come by you need to just understand they’re young guys with an inside joke. Maybe it’s at your expense. And maybe it isn’t. But the main thing you realize is that it can’t hurt you unless you let it.

If it was me I’d just put an arm around each of them and ask 'em what was so funny? But I’d be nice about it. I’d give them a chance to fess up. 😉

A good way to end a resentment is to pray for the people who are hurting us to have what we want for ourselves. Takes the power out of the anger.

Also, it helps me to remember that people who hurt others are really just reflecting hurt in themselves.

Your anger does not come from a couple of smart-aleck punks; you need to seek professional treatment to find the source and deal with it.
