But is it a violation of the First Commandment?
Ex 20:2-3 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me”.
Even their host may not be (as we know it) the actual body and blood of Christ, by adoring it Anglicans are in fact worshipping the one true God. They are certainly not putting another God before Him. Simply misunderstanding what their host is does not constitute putting another god before Our Lord.
I would argue that in doing so they are in fact also demonstrating that they are following the first of the Greatest Commandments that Christ gave us.
Matt 22:37 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."
They are demonstrating love for the Lord our God with all their heart.
Anglicans do not violate these commandments by adoring their Eucharist.
