I dont know. I need to read in more detail. Was there a way he could have petitioned a hearing after the fact?
He did; The only thing he received was a show trial at the Diet of Worms in 1521. As late as the 1530s, the Lutheran reformers were calling for an ecumenical council to resolve the disputes raised. The Council of Trent didn’t have many reformers present to voice their concerns.

Sounds rather odd on the face of it. Maybe I will try to read more about it so I dont rush to assuming anything.

Thanks for letting me know about it in more precise detail. Diets of Worms… Guess I will skip dinner now. (I am sure there is another meaning there, and I dont know all the christian lingo, that really sounds like a code language,( but I am getting a few things down I think)

LOL! Sorry for the confusion. A Diet was the name within Germany at that point in time for a court proceeding. Worms is where the court proceeding was held. It is a town in Germany and is pronounced “vurms” not “worms.”

That certainly is a better thought (although, I dont think I would like the thought of a court proceeding anyway, they usually are not pleasant for anyone) than the one I pictured.

Thanks for helping me uncode some of this language.

I will have to read about it, and you gave me a good start to go on.

Good night friend!

Not to muddy the water any more, but since you are here in the USA, there are many Anglican churches which are not in communion with the Episcopal Church and would be anti-abortion. They are usually referred to as “continuing Anglicans.”
Yep.

GKC

posterus traditus Anglicanus

Continuing Anglicans is a generic name for a group of independent jurisdictions. Google

Anglican Catholic Church

Anglican Church in America

Anglican Province of Christ the King

for some of the major ones.

Each has an official home site.

GKC
Unfortunately there’s never any in my area for me to visit. Bleah.

Okay, I will google and check links. Thanks for the help.

I have thought about going to a church this sunday, just to check what its like for normal circumstances, instead of baptisms and weddings and funerals.

I like good music, and it helps me to stop my distracting thoughts, just like the garden does.

Maybe I will try to narrow it down or try going to at least two of them at a time. Catholics are open everyday it said in the site by my home. Its early, 8:45 am. But, I can do that I think, if my husband is leaving late for work. It appears its an hour at most places from what I have read.

There is a Lutheran Church that is called something with missouri in it. Little farther.
Are they abortion?
Then, I have to check on this Anglican one mentioned that is against abortion, and not affiliated with any body that is,

And then, check a Orthodox one. I dont know how to do that, other than to check Russian or Greek ones.

Those, would be farther even yet, I think.

The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod is the second largest U.S. Lutheran body. They are thoroughly conservative in their views, and very pro-life.

Good to know. Are they affiliated with any other Lutheran body that is not clear about abortion?

I see what is creation as at its best in my child. Her love, her giggles, her sense of humor, her beauty, and she is clever.

She was my reason, to tell my friend to please consider not getting an abortion. I would not have felt so strongly, if I was not a mother myself, to tell her this.

In seeing that, and other things, and realizing that she was asking me about God… even a dream about Jesus, this must be something I should finally confront with myself. I cant keep ignoring him, when he keeps coming up in my daily life like this.

The Missouri Synod is part of a worldwide conference of international Lutheran church bodies called the International Lutheran Conference. All of its member churches are strongly pro-life, traditional church bodies.

I share your agony over your friend’s decision. All we, as the Church Militant, can do, is offer our fervent prayers and tears to Christ that the holocaust of abortion end. We rejoice in knowing that when Christ returns, all injustice will end and the LORD will avenge the deaths of so many.

Oh, dont worry. I got her in touch with some sources from here, and that catholic agency is helping her to bring this baby into the world right now. The sad thing is, she would be a good mother, but she cant do this now and is not married, ect… lots of other things, but they are giving her hope and helping her out, and they are assuring her that child will have good parents.

But, she is not the average case. Had I been a mother earlier in life, I may have been able to help at least 4 others who did this evil thing (although, they did not realize it is) and, all of them are having mental problems as a result. All.

See, you’re only Christian now for a little while and the Spirit is already producing fruit in you! Praise Christ 🙂

notsmart,

The Anglican communion has become extremely fractured and divided over the past 450 years of its existence. Beliefs and practices will very from parish to parish, let alone from country to country. Yes “Continuing Anglicans” are the more traditional churches, and, of these, the churches of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) are by far the closest to Roman Catholicism. In fact, their current Primate - Archbishop John Hepworth of Australia - is currently in negotiation with the Vatican for FULL SACRAMENTAL UNION with the Holy See. This union may be only a few months away.

If you live in the U.S., the TAC church there is the Anglican Church in America (carefully note the word “in”). Google that exact name to find a parish near you.

By the way, TriuneUnity, you mentioned earlier that there were no Continuing Anglican churches near you. If you live near Columbus OH then THERE IS a TAC Church near you! Here’s the link:

stannesanglican.us/

(After all, Luther was a great man with good intentions, but I personally feel he was WRONG to add words like “alone” to the text of the Bible… and he was WRONG to divide the church. Now more than ever, Christianity needs UNITY.)

As for me, I’m currently contemplating a move straight into Roman Catholicism (I’m in the TAC now and I just can’t wait outside the door much longer!). 🙂

I am not baptised, so I cant be a Christian. I just did the golden rule.
You are a Christian from the moment you have faith in Christ, baptized or not. Your Baptism seals and confirms that within you and also formally joins you to a visible congregation.

Mozart, thank you again- I just felt the need to tell you that.

I have read the lost sheep story in the past, (cant recall the book, if in Matthew or the other gospel its mentioned in)

and I thought it meant Jesus looks for those who dont know about him, but now I am confused, because it appears that some think, he was only going after the ones who already knew him, and then strayed.

I just hope he has a plan for people like me. Because, I feel like if there is any hope, its got to be in a God who came to us, and died and rose again. The others make no sense, and are like all the others before in history.

The God Man is the only one who did this.

Yep…I know of St. Ann’s, though I have never been there. Since I reject Catholic doctrine where it differs from my own…I wouldn’t consider it. I was referring to those who share an evangelical view of the gospel.
