Generally, yes. But “The Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America”.

But not exclusively.

Added: I knew I had the story somewhere. That title first appeared at Maryland convention in 1780. Was adopted by the Church at the General Convention in 1789. Remained the given name until 1967.

But, as David Holmes said, in A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH, what was being conveyed was not intended to deny that the Church was Catholic. Via media.
