I think that it will be a cold day before you get your facts straight about the Anglican Communion as a whole. The RCC may want to have that homosexuality talk with their 107 convicted clergy of sex crimes against minor boys. There is an old saying about cleaning your own closet before looking into others.
A lesson you, apparently, have yet to learn.I think that it will be a cold day before you get your facts straight about the Anglican Communion as a whole. ?? How so?A lesson you, apparently, have yet to learn.
Wow, that’s pretty serious. The intent is to hold the Anglican Communion together, but I wonder if it wouldn’t cause the Western churches to spin off.Yesterday bishops debated the new Anglican Covenant, which is intended to bind provinces together in an agreed statement of doctrine.
The effect of the covenant will be to create a “two-tier communion”, divided between those who will and will not sign up. According to the latest draft, provinces that violate the covenant by actions such as consecrating a gay bishop would be issued with a “declaration of relinquishment”.
But this would not mean they were irrevocably expelled from the Church. A “process of restoration” would be started immediately to restore them to full communion.
None of this will ultimately have a thing to do with churches such as the Diocese of Uganda and The Southern Cone of South America. Many of these bishops and such will not attend Lambeth and have no desire to be involved with anything except the true unadulterated Word and Will of God.Wow, that’s pretty serious. I think I read that about 1/3 of Anglican bishops are boycotting the current Lambeth. Perhaps these are the ones to which you refer.None of this will ultimately have a thing to do with churches such as the Diocese of Uganda and The Southern Cone of South America. Yep, like my bishop. Archbishop Orombi of the Diocese of Uganda.I think I read that about 1/3 of Anglican bishops are boycotting the current Lambeth. Perhaps these are the ones to which you refer.
Is it too late to bring them back? What would it take, if not the proposed Covenant?
point taken.the lambeth conference is going on as we speak. it is soon to end. many bishops did not attend. these are serious times for the anglican communion and the issue of homosexuality is only a part of the division. authentic church teachings about the virgin birth, resurrection, etc. are also at stake.
the Pope does not want to see a schism in the Anglican communion. he told them they need to decide whether they are protestant or catholic. unfortunately, they aren’t making the right choice. some of the same issues the anglican communion has been dealing with i am sure are bubbling underneath the surface in the RCC also - like ordaining female priests?
so the Pope does not want anyone in the RCC get any ideas from what could happen in the anglican communion.
Our Pope is watching over everyone.

Just out of curiousity, SIA, if the Diocese of Uganda was to reunite with Rome (which admittedly isn’t likely at all, but might happen with certain other conservative Anglican dioceses), would you stay with the diocese or seek out a new one?Yep, like my bishop. Archbishop Orombi of the Diocese of Uganda.
