Anglican Communion or Eucharist

Is Anglican Communion or Eucharist open or closed? I just read an article that related that Prince Harry’s finance’ is converting (or has done so) to Anglicanism and will now be able “to take communion” next to him when they go to church. I guess I just assumed out of ignorance on the matter all protestants offered open communion. Thank you for any clarification.
 
Most Anglican church welcomes all who are baptised to receive communion. To them it is also OK for Catholics and Orthodox Christians to receive even though the Catholic and Orthodox Churches say no to that. Some protestant churches offer open communion and some don’t. It varies even within the baptist and Lutheran parishes if they are open to other baptists or Lutherans from other “branches” or other parishes than their home parish. Sometimes baptism isn’t needed before one can receive communion. There are no overall rules when it comes to the protestant believers.

Maybe the “princess to be” wasn’t baptised in the first place? It could also be that she would have to be Anglican in order for their children to inherit the throne one day.
 
She was also baptized in the Anglican Church and I was surprised at that. Thought she was already baptized since she is Episcopalian. So if she wasn’t baptized she couldn’t receive communion and now she can.
 
No, she wouldn’t have to be Anglican to preserve her children’s place in the line of succession.
 
Broadly speaking the Church of England offers the Eucharist to all baptised members of Trinitarian churches who are in good standing with their own churches. I think the point with Ms Markle is that she had not been baptised.

Okay that helps. The article I read mentioned she was raised protestant but didn’t mention baptism as I recall. Thank you all for the (name removed by moderator)ut.

Not in the least. Continuing Anglican churches have never, ever had open communion (to my knowledge). Neither have Confessional Lutherans, who practice closed/close communion.
