Oh. Yeah. That thing I posted about in the Anglo-Catholic thread just down the page a little.

It’s sort of tricky, but, in shorthand, Momentomori, one need only, as a RC, understand that the RCC does not consider Anglican priests (generally, might be some exceptions) to be valid priests, or able to validly celebrate Mass, or perform other priestly functions. They are considered laymen.

The history and explanation of all that is sort of complicated, but the above is all that is needed to be understood, from a RC standpoint.

But I don’t want to get too predictable.

But, yeah, what he said. I would more likely say that any RC (at all) should affirm any thing (at all) which is taught by the RCC, in the sense the RCC requires it to be affirmed.

There are a couple of Orthodox churches about 45 miles from here and a Latin tridentine Mass about 45 miles away I’ve considered. Otherwise it’s mainstream ACNA Anglican or watered-down Latino-liberation theology Catholicism around here. 😦

Sorry I forgot, I communicate with so many people that my memory fails me. Also I am not a hugh sports fan sorry about that too.

You live up North or the Central area of California if I recall right. I know for sure there will be a parish in San Diego but of course they only have Mass in Vietnamese at this time, but who knows. Also I would like to see my former parish join and then hopefully others will follow. Also I thought if a few from the first parishes would go out and start new ones, as there will be several priests coming who don’t have parishes it might work out that there are parishes in many areas. I really believe that the Holy Spirit is in charge of this and He will allow it to grow. Right now Satan is really trying to destroy as much as he can. I am attending a meeting at my former parish and praying that they will vote to come in. My favorite priest (who I have never met in person) who is a wonderful priest and is always there for me to answer my questions and concerns will be traveling to California for the meeting. He is Anglican Use and I would like him to be the Ordinary if God is willing.

All you can do is pray, that is what I and many others are doing. There are many Latin Rite Catholics interested in the Ordinariates, so we will just have to wait and see what our Lord does.

Don’t be sorry, Bernadette. I was just kidding with you. I live in the south end of the Central Valley of California—Visalia. We’re a town of about 125,000 currently. We’re about six hours from San Diego, about 3.5 or so from my favorite city—San Francisco. We’re about 3 from L.A. as well. So SD is WAY too far and my Vietnamese is pretty rusty! 😃

When does the Church of England speak for Catholics. That is the most ridiculous statement I have read. I can see that the CoE is really hurting that some of the members are becoming Catholic.

Their Archbishop also wanted to be part of the process of the Ordinariates, you have to wonder which planet he is coming from with some of the statements he has made.

It’s a possible offer, Bernadette, not a decree of how things must be. To allow a situation precisely like that done around 25 years ago, in a couple of Anglican parishes, at the last Anglican exodus.

Maybe I misunderstood the meaning. I thought it meant that once Anglicans converted they could still attend Anglican parishes and take Communion. Now that I think about it, I suppose they just mean use Anglican buildings to worship in. If that is the case, that is a different story.

I don’t know about the United Kingdom, but here in the US, many Catholic parishes have opened their doors to Anglicans coming into the Ordinariate to hold their services. Even ones who are now Anglican Use are using Catholic churches for their Masses and all events.
