The result of True Christian Ecumenism, prayers, and tons of other things.

i think a good choice was made. it will be interesting to see how this develops.
Pope Benedict XVI has done so many good things in the short time he has been Pope. as an ex-episcopalian, i hope that many anglicans will consider converting.

This is a triumph of the Catholic Church and a very notable accomplishment of our Holy Father. This small-scale Anglican reunion was well thought out, respectful of the traditions of the faithful desiring reunion, and was executed with due respect and consideration of the Anglican Church. Pope Benedict XVI was careful to ensure that this move would not damage relations with the Anglican Church. Comments from the Archbishop of Canterbury would seem to indicate the Pontiff has accomplished this difficult feat.

We pray for His Holiness, the bishops who worked tirelessly to help make this happen, and for our new Anglican Catholic brothers and sisters!

I am thrilled to hear about this and I have been following the subject for some time. I am a revert who spent over 20 years in an orthodox Episcopalian parish (no women priests, pro-life, traditional liturgy). I know at least 5 or 6 fellow parishioners who have joined the Roman Catholic Church in the last 2 years. This stemmed from the disturbing events taking place in the hierarchy of the ECUSA. We welcome the new members of the ordinariate and commend the Holy Father for allowing this to come to fruition. We hope the beautiful music and liturgical traditions of the Anglican-based churches will be respected and perhaps prompt some of our RC parishes to adopt the same.

From all accounts, this will be the case, as great respect and concern for maintaining tradition was evident throughout this process. The Anglican Use Mass is now part of our lexicon. Priests of the Latin Rite may use it occasionally with permission of their own ordinary.

We also pray that many of the distinct virtues of the Anglican Church rub off on us. Most Reverend Father Steenson was quoted recently as saying:
Here is one thing I earnestly desire to share with you from the outset - Anglican spirituality has always emphasized the need to be gentlemanly in all of our relationships. May you see in us always the virtue of courtesy!
As per Eastern tradition, we at this moment wish him and the faithful of the Anglican Ordinariates peace, health and happiness for many blessed years!
