Anglican Ordinariate Questions

I have a couple of questions. What about ex-Anglicans who became Catholic before the ordinariate? Can they join the ordinariate?

Are members of the ordinariate under the jurisdiction of the Latin bishop? Or just under their ordinary?

2. Yes, former Anglicans who becme Catholic before the ordinariate (this includes myself) can join, according to the terms of *Anglicanorum Coetibus. *I personally take a great interest in the ordinariate, but will not be joining, as I have been Catholic for decades and am part of an FSSP parish where the Extraordinary Form of the Mass is celebrated exclusively.
3. The ordinariate will work harmoniously with the local bishop, but canonically members are subject to the Ordinary.

I don’t think I would call a “half-step shy”. The impression I get (which of course could be completely wrong) from everything I’ve read is that there’s really no possibility of it becoming a sui iuris church.

Rome is unlikely to let it cross that last half step, but… that doesn’t mean it’s not right up to just shy of that boundary line.

1. it has its own liturgy
2. it has its own hierarchy, tho not all of them are bishops (which is something not even all Sui Iuris churches have - the Russian GCC has no hierarchs but is, technically, sui iuris)
3. it has permission for its own seminaries
4. it has overlapping jurisdiction with the Roman bishops.

It lacks the ability to legislate itself, in the same way Roman dioceses, metropolia, and national churches are unable to do so, but sui iuris churches may - but it can petition Rome for that legislation, if needed, in the same way the Russian GCC clergy can.
