Step away from the computer for a day and a lot happens. As far as I’m concerned the topic has pretty much been covered. Each side steadfastly adhering to their beliefs with a lot of fine dialogue and education in between. Thanks for making it interesting!👍

I suppose if you’re just discussing it out of historical curiosity, but that’s all that document is now. Even the theoretical possibility of Anglicans having valid orders is now gone forever.
There are Anglicans outside the Church of England.

Although this may sound strange in regards to whether some Anglicans are ordained priests and if it is a valid ordination i.e. Dutch Touch, however illicit, as a former member of TEC and an Anglo Catholic for many years, I do believe that this particular priest was able to confect the Body and Blood of our Lord.

I don’t recall with other Anglican clergy my experience happening, although I was older and more aware of the Presence of Christ when this happened. I was already a Catholic and curious I attended my old TEC parish, the former priest had been a Catholic priest for years and the parish had an Anglican priest celebrate. I remember how I actually physically felt how empty the church was and knew it was because there was no Real Presence on the altar. A few months later I attended an Easter mission at my Catholic parish and while waiting for it to start I felt that same emptiness. A few minutes later our Pastor sitting in the back announced that he had removed the Blessed Sacrament because it was a layman who was conducting the mission. The Pastor is older and very traditional.

Because of such strong feelings I do believe that my former priest who was ordained with the Dutch Touch actually was able to consecrate the bread and wine. Also he was one of the first priests to meet with the Vatican and Pope to ask for the Anglican Use. He was although not formerly in communion with the Church, he was in belief Catholic through and through.

At least I will always believe that I had a spiritual experience and the Lord showed me that without His True Presence a church can feel empty.

Thanks for the comment. Interesting how you could feel the presence or lack of it.
