I understand you feel this way, but for me I could never again accept the authority of the pope because I do not believe that this is truth. This has nothing to do with my belief that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist though. Hope that helps.I don’t think its pride. Part of being in communion with Catholics woud be accepting the authority of the Pope and the concept that the Church is One, Holy, and apostolic, among other things. I am all for unity but I would not, for instance, feel I should receive communion at an Anglican church even though I would be welcome to do so because my beliefs are not in harmony. Not trying to be mean spirited at all when I say that, I hope you understand. But it goes beyond just the the belief in the Real Presence.
