Yes.Do you miss taking Communion?
Yes.Do you miss taking Communion?
I do think the ‘watch’ ended last year, and after the Sister met with the Pope, they claimed, “We were also deeply heartened by Pope Francis’ expression of appreciation for the witness given by Catholic sisters through our lives and ministry and will bring that message back to our members,” the leaders said.It said scholars, not persons in the RCC with authority to decide on the matter. Besides, the probable Catholics in the list are nuns from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious.

Are you aware the LCWR was placed under close watch by the Vatican’s CDF?
I’ve been holding back, and I’ll probably regret this.
I’m kind of in disbelief at the Episcopalians here who are painting some kind of Kumbaya all accepting picture of the TEC. That was once the case, and it’s how TEC got into the situation it’s in, but now that the revisionists have taken over, there is no room for dissent from their agenda. Priests who refuse to perform gay weddings are being forced to resign. It’s been made clear that those who are faithful to the Bible and Tradition will not be tolerated. That is why the denomination is in such decline. That is why 75% of the Anglican Communion is going to move on and leave whoever’s still talking to TEC and ACoC in whatever tiny declining organization they have left.
I remember that. I think the Parson was also at that meeting, no?after the Sister met with the Pope…

Your Catholic Sisters are the backbone of the Church. I admire them greatly.
When I was attending Roman Catholic Mass, I was not supposed to receive anyway. So I can’t honestly say I miss it in my case. I suppose it’s hard for me to miss something that I wasn’t supposed to be taking anyway. Though I know if I were to attend an Episcopal Mass, I could take communion or could in some of the other Christian traditions. I do not know what the future holds yet for me. But in any case I sure hope things work out for you on your faith journey, Graceful_Lamb. Many blessings to you.Yes.
Which is why the emphasis since the ‘70s has been to (re)evangelize the Church, not the non-Catholics but the Catholics who are falling asleep in their faith. It’s certainly not a numbers game to the Church; in Jesus’ day, most of the world were not Christians. However, we know that Christ promises there will be one flock and one Shepherd so we know how this all ends. All depends on where you live. Overall the Catholic Church is holding steady according to polling numbers wise. But it’s shrinking as a percentage of the population due to population growth. And mind you this includes immigrant numbers being included. Remove immigrants from the equation and the RCC is in just as bad of shape as most of mainline Protestantism as well in the US.
Which shouldn’t shock anyone. Most of Christianity has been reeling the last 60 years in the US and it’s only getting worse. And generationally the Millennial generation is eschewing religion in very large numbers.
but shouldn’t, if the priest doesn’t have valid Holy Orders (Apostolic Succession). When I was attending Roman Catholic Mass, I was not supposed to receive anyway. None taken, here. That’s the sine qua non.but shouldn’t, if the priest doesn’t have valid Holy Orders (Apostolic Succession).
Not meaning any offense to our separated brethren of course.![]()
Oddly enough, after submitting my post but before seeing yours, I was thinking to myself “I wonder how many of my other brethren (i.e. my fellow Catholics) will take offense that I said “if the priest doesn’t have valid Holy Orders” – hence passing up a chance to say “the priest [and every Anglican priest] doesn’t have valid Holy Orders”?”Originally Posted by Peter J

That’s the sine qua non.Interesting. I’m beginning to think that Christians don’t all agree on everything.Folk differ on where that might be found, of course.![]()
