I’d conjecture that while we can tour our subconscious during dreaming, the unconscious, if distinct, is buried so far down that it would appear only under drugs or near death.

There could also be less there than meets the mind; the unconscious may consist mostly of body-control commands, which have no name because there is no need to communicate or think through them.

And for that matter what do you mean by the subconscious mind?

We all have a mind. We all dream. It is still the same mind, only we are asleep when we dream. I don’t think my dreaming mind is going to tell me anything I don’t know consciously . Has yours?

Some have distinguished between the subconscious and unconscious. I am not sure whether they really are distinct.

These sectors, or this sector, is simply that aspect of our mind that operates without the need for conscious thought. This would include most of our body responses and learned skills or reactions.
