Anima Christi

I found this on "Christian Forums", a place I joined a while back but have been reluctant to participate as it is very protestant.
Tonight I just discovered that they actually have a Catholic area! Now I can post there without getting into trouble (let's hope).

Please see:

Anima Christi

Anima Christi, sanctifica me.
Corpus Christi, salva me.
Sanguis Christi, inebria me.
Aqua lateris Christi, lava me.
Passio Christi, conforta me.
O Bone Iesu, exaudi me.
Intra tua vulnera absconde me.
Ne permittas me separari a te.
Ab hoste maligno defende me.
In hora mortis meae voca me.
Et iube me venire ad te,
ut cum Sanctis tuis laudem te
in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from thee.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me
and bid me come unto thee,
that with thy saints I may praise thee
for ever and ever. Amen.

The author is possibly Pope John XXII (died 1334).

Here is a German version from 1648. That year finally saw the end of the most terrible of all wars - the Thirty Years' War.

In deine heilige Wunden verbirg mich,
lass mich nimmer mehr von dir geschieden werden.
Vor dem bösen Feind bewahre mich,
in meiner letzten Stunde rufe mir,
daß ich möge kommen zu dir
und mit alle Auserwählten
dich loben und preisen ewiglich.
O lieber Herr Jesu, erhöre mich.

=
May the soul of Christ sanctify me,
may the body of Christ nourish me,
may the blood of Christ quench my thirst,
may the water that flowed from his side wash me,
may his bitter suffering and death strengthen me,
O dear Lord Jesus, hear me.
Hide me in your holy wounds,
let me never be separated from you again.
Preserve me from the evil enemy,
call me in my last hour,
that I may come to you
and with all the elect
praise and glorify you forever.
O dear Lord Jesus, hear me.
