Problem with online debates is that there is no face-to-face interactions and reading of body language and other cues. And people get really upset really fast.

The pointing of arguing is to persuade others to your position. And things should logically follow from the premises. Accepted.

But maybe everything does not need to be taken so seriously always. In the case of the injured animal and the guy in need of the band aid… why not just help both Kind of like injured people. Nonetheless, even among injured people medics and medical doctors will assess who they should help and who they should just leave. There’s a term for it but I forget. But if you can help all the injured people in front of you then you do. Same with one injured dog and the guy with a minor wound. In fact the guy can wait if his injury does not require immediate attention.

The word you’re looking for is “triage”

LOL, yeah, my mouth waters at the thought of a steer we sent for processing. I’m due to pick him up this week. He was really pretty in the field and I’m sure he’ll be even tastier on the grill

It would seem that those who are against this type of experimentation should be the brave ones who should step forward in order to protect their fellow animals. I would be able and willing to direct them to the research centers where they could volunteer.

Dude, I just picked up my steer from a packing company and completely filled my freezer for the year. My mouth was watering the whole way there and back. I found out that they sell beefalo and bison there, so I picked up a small package of each just to try it. Mom wants to raise a beefalo steer. I’m seriously considering it. But as it is, what we home grow is pretty in the field and even tastier on the grill, so who knows.

Note that the animal that you had slaughtered for your eating pleasure did not have the choice as well.

There’s a difference between treating an animal with dignity during its life and dispatching it humanely; and it’s quite another story to let an injured animal suffer, neglecting one’s responsibility to care for their pet that they chose to bring home, neglecting to care for it, deciding not to feed it, and/or putting it to sleep when it’s not cute and fluffy anymore.

BTW When’s the BBQ? You are making me hungry, it has been a long time since we had freash meat.
