I’m not sure if this is the wright category, but

Is there a Catholic explaination why animals seam to sense ghosts and supernatural activity that humans cant?

As we have explained on the other thread, the only spirits that can be in a house are either
  1. Demons or
  2. Deceased souls whom God has permitted to visit earth for a particular purpose such as to serve their Purgatory time or to ask for prayers.
“Animals behaving strangely” is anecdotal evidence at best. An animal might behave strangely because there is a demon in the house or because it heard a normal earthly noise happening half a block away that we can’t hear because our hearing is not as good as the cat or dog.

I’m really not sure how this thread relates to anything Catholic.

Many cases of pets behaving strangely or seeing invisible beings stem from bats, rodents or insects in the walls or under the floor boards.

We Catholics do not believe in the ghosts of dead humans haunting houses.

Animals sense many natural phenomena such as earthquakes.

  • No, the Church has no position on this.
  • Yes, people will begin to split hairs over this subject and its terminology
