[Anime] Attack on titan?

So I heard a new anime was released last Sunday called “Attack on Titan” or “Shingeki no Kyoji” and recieved ALOT of hype.

I know that alot of people here in the forums are anime fans/otakus so I just want to know if this anime is really worth all the hype.
 
Well, we’re gonna have to watch to know for sure, lol! I’ve heard it be referred to as the next SAO, but who knows! I know the 1st ep already aired, but it seems nobody has “officially” picked up this series. However, it seems that it was “leaked” a couple days ago that Funi has it, lol 😃 So stay tuned!

I’ll prolly end up giving it a trial run of a few eps (if Funi does have it) and see if it grabs my interest since I already have too much on my queue list for this Spring season! ^___^
 
I skimmed through the first chapter of the manga (yes, it’s apparently a manga). So far, the art looks like something I have to take a looong time getting used to. :\

And of course, once you posted this, I had to google it. The art is very… Unusual. The designs of the giants (are those the “titans”, or what?) look kind of disturbing. :o

Well if it’s any indication, I’ve got a nasty toothache right now which makes any sort of reading difficult. You can imagine the headache I got after trying to read it despite the art.
 
I saw the manga and the art style looks pretty retro (Like, Ghost in the shell-retro) .
The ‘Titans’? I think their design is meant to invoke fear unlike most giants in other media that don’t look as frightening.

If they’re not supposed to be scary, the artist has failed. If they are, he has entirely succeeded. I might check it out, it could be interesting. I can’t tell yet.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, there’s an anime PV that came out for it: Attack on Titan Preview
I can understand based on the PV how people can be hyped up about it (some of the giants look like giant babies to me, lol). 😛 I’ve seen mixed reviews on the 1st ep, but we’ll all still have to watch it in the end to see if it lived up to the hype. 😃
 
After reading the 1st chapter of the manga and watching the 1st episode, I think the anime really does deserve the hype.

The anime stays true to the manga making this some sort of Dream-come-true for the manga readers. The giants are the combination of ugly and terrifying making them the perfect enemy against humanity. The OP is awesome. No ED yet. The pacing is great and the art is awesome! First time I’ve ever seen CG look good on an anime (Besides Fate/Zero).

But there are still alot more episodes to go so my opinion still stands, will it be worth it?

But anyway, I was shocked to read just now that CR also just got Attack on Titan!

It seems every Sunday afternoon pacific time starting on April 14, they will release episode 1, and 2 for premium members - with an exact broadcast time to be confirmed at a later point.
This is good news for myself and others since u need a Funi subscription to watch Attack on Titan over there.
 
I have watched the first 5 episodes and have found it hype worthy. The theme song alone is worth a lot of hype. That first 3 seconds of German alone is epic. SIND SIE DAS ESSEN? NIEN, WIR SIND DER JAGER!!!
