Nausicaa was more straight-up happy ending, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, I’ve always kind of liked bittersweet endings.

Unless the info I read was wrong, the anime supposedly only went 1/4th into the story of the manga. In a recent interview, Miyazaki had said that he’s not interested in creating a sequel for it, but he’s open to Evangelion’s director in doing it, which he has already expressed very much that he would like to do it, so we’ll see!

That’s why San and Ashitaka can’t simply be together

And now I’m finally watching Attack on Titan- several seasons late, as per usual. It’s so violent. I like it more than I should.

Tbh, I find Eren’s overly-obsessive desire to kill all the Titans to be more disturbing than the actual violence/blood, lol.

Ah, I thought the final episode was aleready aired, since most of the autumm season anime shows are finished.

There’s actually a ton of shows that are continuing into the Winter Season (at least on CR); Log Horizon appears to be one of them.

Wow. That would be… Weird. I would have to go see it if that were to happen.

I did know that the manga was a huge story, it didn’t finish until way after the movie was completed.

Speaking of SAO, did you saw Galillei Donna? (same character designer)

I think it was a good show, but the final episodes where rushed. It could have benefited with being a two cour show.

But I disliked how they dressed the little sister (Hocchibi) in the opening and some scenes. Maybe they were pandering to the loli fans.

I started watching it. It’s a good show. I haven’t really noticed any fan service of the youngest sister. I thought the one scene with the middle sister being attacked by that guy was a bit over the top - first ep. But the show’s been OK for the few eps of it that I’ve seen.

Still I wish there was a nice tsundere show around…

Or something like Gosick, Zero’s Familiar, Toradora, Moon Phase (with less lewd stuff), Aria the Scarlet Ammo, idolm@ster etc.

Rozen Maiden 2013 was a disappointment. But the first series was great.

EDIT: Akatsuki (Log Horizon) has her tsundere moments too.
EDIT2: Australia has the DVD set of GOSICK.
EDIT3: And please no “deconstruction” of maho shojo genre. MS and real violence do not mix, it’s unnatural Japan. ( I am of course attacking the holy cow of Madoka Magica. )

About Hozuki fanservice, I think it was limited for underwear scenes (for the middle sister too, I think) and having her wearing only overalls.

Early 20th century Europe. Mysterious Gothic lolita outfit wearing girl of tsundere character solves crimes and mysteries using a Sherlock Holmes type approach, being helped by a naive yet kind hearted male character. Underlying story motif also exists with ongoing cases having a tie in too. I don’t recall any lewd fan service in the series.

Dantalian no Shoka. The setting is once again early 20th century, just after WW1, in Europe. Young man inherits mansion and all its books after murder of his uncle. He is also instructed to take care of “Dalian”, a tsundere gothic lolita outfit wearing girl who takes care of the books. Books include “forbidden knowledge” books, books which mankind should not have access to because they are corrupting, evil, lead to mayhem and so on, when coupled with mans’ greedy and narcissistic nature, nasty things follow. Story involves cases where said guy and his sugar bun loving tsundere companion try to locate these books and “seal” them away. I don’t recall fan service either.

Also, I find it hard to believe, but we’ve already begun a new year, which means the 2013 year of anime is over. What has been everyone’s favorites from the past year? And if u watched a bunch from the past year, did u think it was a good year for anime? Why or why not?

I guess there’s only about 5 (out of about 20 or so shows that I watched from the 2013 season), that get 2, or close to 2, thumbs up:

1. Chihayafuru 2
2. AoT
3. TWGOK Season 3 / RWBY ~ yep a 3rd place tie!
4. Gargantia

There was a Gosick Red novel/manga out, this past Christmas Day. It’s the same Victorique and Kujo living in NYC in the 30s. She’s a detective and he’s a journalist. There will be a serial killer to catch and a conspiracy to uncover. It should make for a nice anime.

Log Horizon and some others are still continuing.

Addendum to last post (since my 20 minutes is up @_@), but were there certain kinds of shows or genres that u wanted to see more of from 2013, but didn’t?

Yeah, I think, generally, when talking about anime from a yearly perspective (from the 2013 season in this case), u go from Winter of the prior year (2012) to Fall of the said year. ^.^ U don’t literally do it from Jan 1, to Dec. 31st. But I guess, like most things, it’s debatable, lol.

Yes.

How about…

A sequel to Aria the Scarlet Ammo with more Aria.
A new season of idolm@ster with major emphasis on Iori Minase.
A new season of Okami San and her 7 Companions, with emphasis on Ryōko Ōkami.
A new season of Tora Dora with more Taiga.
A better Scientific Railgun - more like Season One.
A better Rozen Maiden.
Another season of NEET DETECTIVE (Heaven’s Memo Pad)
And so on…
(We won’t see more Zero’s Familiar.)

I also found Copelion to be pretty good. Have not finished it but I did sneak a peek at the last episode to make sure the series does not end in too much of a stupid way.
On a more serious note Psycho-Pass Season II and the movie should be good as well.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up on it! I just did a little more digging, but for some reason, this novel rubs off onto me like it’s a one-shot. I can’t tell if it’s going to be a series of volumes, or something else.

Yes, but there’s a chance of an anime adaptation regardless. It could be a 12 episode or even a 24/26 ep season. Anime studios tend to repeat what’s popular. Gosick was very popular and another season, different universe or some sequel could work. If there’s activity on the print side, then the chances of anime adaptation are good.
