I see US anime houses releasing the likes of Sekirei I and II, Master of Martial Arts and Queen’s Blade I and II !!!1 but no A Certain Scientific Railgun, which IMO is one of the top 10 mainstream shows ever made, or Seitokai No Ichizon with Kurimu Sakurano. Minami Ke (1st season) is also another great series which missed US release. Come on.

What are these ppl thinking?
Funimation is in the process of dubbing Railgun. It’s just taking a long time to get it done.

Vegeta, what’s the pricetag on that television set??

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

That feeling when Vagabond and Vinland Saga wont get an anime series and a Gantz OVA will never be made. 😦

opens mouth to argue but then stops

Oh who am I kidding? You’re right. >_<
I mean for the love of God it took me 2 days to watch the Saiyan Saga and 2 hours to read it. That says it all. I have forsworn anime. The only thing I will miss is the musical scores.

That’s good to know. But they could go like Seitai Works and just release it subbed. It would be cheaper too.

And so is my heartbeat… wait! gasps Gack! Could it be? Did someone write my name on the Death Note. Gwaagh!!! clutches chest x_X
Sony has some nice 3D 720p OLED video glasses out. They’re not cheap but cheaper than a 70 inch TV, and no need to advertise to others what you’re watching… you know.

And this one’s for all you followers of this thread.

Anime >>>>>>>>> Manga. Come on, who has time to figure out silly right to left panels, when you can enjoy laid back mind numbing video… 🙂
I’ll tell you what. Choose an anime with an original manga. You watch the anime, I’ll read the manga. After beating you in the race I’ll come back here and spoil it for you :D!

And so it begins, geeks now chasing their dreams, race to finish their tales! The world now enters the Golden Age of the Great Otaku Race!

plays One Piece theme

Oh no! Please! I… I… I couldn’t finish reading One Piece! I even skipped the Skypiea arc (it honestly felt like an anime filler) and I couldn’t keep going. It’s taken me four days to re-read all of Naruto (I’m almost up to date on the releases, chapter 556 currently). But One Piece… it… it… it’s evil I say!

Honestly, of the 3-4 mangas I tried - Negima, Ghost in the Shell, Battle Angel Alita, To Heart and a shoujo manga I can’t remember the name of but it’s somewhere here, I just couldn’t get through the first volume or 1/4 of the thing. LOL.

Folks, this is so cool. Studio Ghibli’s (Hayao Miyasaki and Son) new anime film:
From Up On Poppy Hill - (コクリコ坂から)

Based on a shoujo manga set in the 50/60s. It will be great- probably a mix of Whispers of the Heart and Ponyo :). DVD (BD) will probably be out in places like Amazon JP. Miyazaki always makes uncontroversial family friendly films without any softcore pornography of any type.

Never been much of a manga reader, but I do have a few exceptions.

The biggest one is Hayate the Combat Butler. I have read all but the most recent volume released here in the states. A picture of all of my volumes. twitpic.com/7ucuk4

That is the only series that, as of right now, I have been able to make it past volume 5 of. However, there are a few recently released series that will probably break that once they work their way past 5 volumes. Mainly, I mean Toradora, A Certain Scientific Railgun, and Durarara!!

Toradora and Railgun are very good. And dude you should check out Seitokai no Ichizon. It has one of the most popular characters ever, that blonde gamer girl, Mafuyu Shiina, although Kurimu Sakurano (aka Aka-chan aka Kurimuzon - Crimson) is my favourite. 🙂
The show parodies anime games, gaming, different types of manga including yaoi manga and so on. It’s incredibly hilarious, sort of like Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, A Channel and Strawberry Marshmallow. After Azumanga Daioh I’d say S.I. is the next best series.

I’ve been wanting to read a good manga with Catholic themes in it, like Ao no Exorcist or Hellsing. Has anyone read them? I’m not bothered about blood and gore, etc. Or even poor theology (or not too much at least). I’m only worried about sex and blatant anti-Catholicism, etc.
