So, anyone been watching Nisemonogatari? Really has gotten weird lately, and that’s saying something!

Also, I’m still loving this season of Milky Holmes! It’s fun to watch Sheryl’s idiocy, Elly’s social phobias and latent dark side, and Cordelia’s various quirks and not-so-hidden dark side. Kokoro makes me laugh so much. She’s such a jerk, but a funny one. Twenty is…well, Twenty.

It kind of blows my mind that the singer behind “only my railgun”, Nanjo Yoshino, is behind Kokoro’s voice. Two very different voices and tones.

Look I’m not the Buu saga’s biggest fan. But SSJ3 was the greatest moment in anime history (I’ve not read it in the manga yet). It’s the pinnacle of Japanese culture. Their greatest achievement was having Akira Toriyama grow up with them so that he could go on to draw this great manga and this great scene which the animators brought to life with a great sound track and just all around epic moment.

If only Gotenks hadn’t cheapened it…
Funny though considering Toriyama wanted to stop after the Cell Saga (Gohan taking up his fathers mantle of defender of the planet, Vegeta swearing to never fight again) only fan demands made him continue. A great deal of fans actually discount anything after the Cell Games saga as non-canon (like many Star Wars fan would love to ignore the prequel trilogy :D). I personally liked Kid Buu as a villain but felt it was to drawn out in getting there (also Gohan basically being brushed aside for Goku again was a disappointment) and I also like Vegeta finally putting his rivalry to rest (though in truth he does this after the Cell Games acknowledging that he could no go to death smiling and Goku was a true warrior).

As for GT well…:banghead:

Regarding Gohan and Goku. I think Goku returning to the fore as earth’s protector was the right move. Gohan just didn’t have it in him. He lacked the will to be a warrior. And I’m glad that Vegeta and Goku’s relationship didn’t close there. It wasn’t the right thing for Vegeta. There wasn’t real closure.

Plus we would have missed out on his great moments of the Buu saga. His sacrifice and “there’s one thing a Saiyan always keeps… his PRIDE!” :D!

Didn’t Gohan berserk when Goku died and killed Cell. But I didn’t watched myself, it’s what I understood on a latter episode.
No he went berserk when 16 was killed by Cell before his eyes. Goku’s death was the result of natural Sayian arrogance as he let Cell regenerate. Goku yelled at Gohan to finish it but Gohan basically stated Cell hadn’t suffered enough. Goku then had to sacrifice himself as Cell reverted back to semi-perfect form and blowing himself up.

But a key point Goku made was nearly everything that had threatened the Earth was a result of him being there. Raditz, Vegeta and Nappa, Freeza, the androids and Cell all attacked Earth because Goku was there and wanted to kill Goku or destroy the planet because Goku held it close. Thus his death was basically to stop the fighting as without Goku there he believed the Earth would not come under threat again.

.
But he can kill Cell, it’s just that he let him live. The time he’s manhandling Cell, he’s stronger than the rest of the cast. I read it only though on a wiki.

Yes he could, easily, but because of his SSJ2 it raised his dormant Sayian arrogance. Cell reverted to his semi-perfect form and became a living bomb (if Gohan had tried blasting him it would detonate anyway) Goku had to step in and use instant transmission to teleport himself and Cell away from the Earth as Cell’s detonation would blow up the planet.

Anyone watching Brave 10 this season? I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. It’s not my favorite show by any means, but its take on the Sanada Ten Braves legend is rather imaginative. Definitely worth a look if you like samurai or Sengoku stuff (and I’m not a big fan of Sengoku stuff in general, heh)

Also, is anyone else excited about the finale to Nisemonogatari? I get the feeling the fight will be pretty awesome.

You poor thing… 😛
I know rite!? ;w;

It even felt a bit rushed… but adult Ako and Nodoko are both so pretty. ;w;

And then that part in the end with all the pactios piled around in a nice little memorial… sniffs

Ooh, manga endings always do this to me! TwT

Haha, I’ll pick the final volume when it gets stateside here in the US. Didn’t follow the series avidly, but I’d be interested to see how it ended.

Anyways, did anyone catch the finale episode of Nisemonogatari? I thought it was pretty cool, but the series needed more Senjougahara. Could have done with an extra episode on Tsukihi Phoenix as well.

Also, Kore wa Zombie desu ka’s manga is coming out here in the states. Seriously pondering getting it. Looks fun. Wonder if it’s as good as the show.

Watched it. Pretty nice. (Which is all I can say to prevent myself from giving out spoilers.) 😃

So, anyone watching stuff from the Spring season?

I don’t have time to mention every show I’m watching right now, but Fate/Zero is a must for me…I just hope Crunchyroll or NND streams it like they did for part 1.

Also, Shirokuma Cafe (Polar Bear’s Cafe) is a pretty awesome show, though it is a little unusual.

They completely deleted every trace of the other thread’s existence, rather than just locking it. 🤷 I was wondering how far we’d go on the post count before the mods ever noticed as that thread was well over 1,200 posts and they’re supposed to lock threads as soon as they hit 1,000.

Also, RIP GutsfromBerserk. :signofcross:

I have heard of Penguindrum, but I have not been able to find the show on any of the streaming sites I usually visit, so I have not seen it. It sounds insane.

Has anyone else seen Ghost Hound or Star Driver? I think that they’re two of the most underrated anime I have ever watched. They’re not perfect, but hardly anybody seems to talk about them.
