I’m seeking recommendations for a low-key, fairy tale/fantasy type series…kind of a bedtime story.
Nothing too bizarre or violent. (If I could locate a subbed version of Pokemon, that would be great).

So, for the new season, I’m watching:
Osomatsu-san, a revival of the popular gag manga & anime from the 1960s and the 1980s with the sextuplet boys as adults. Thus far, it has done a great job of not falling back on dated humor and tropes. The animation style and backgrounds are great, too.
Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, a sequel to the original Utaware. The first season bored me tremendously, but this one seems to be a lot better. Really like the main characters. In particular, the main hero and heroine have a lot of chemistry. The heroine, in particular, has a lot of personality without being overbearing.
Comet Lucifer, a nice sci-fi show with some cute character designs. The plot’s fairly run of the mill, but it’s definitely fun and watchable so far.
Lance n’ Masques, which frankly seems like Hayate the Combat Butler, except without the dependence on gags and satire. Main dude is part of the last remaining order of knights in the modern day. He, his battle maid mentor, horse that’s somehow also a girl, and (also female) squire look after the heiress to a large fortune. Other stuff happens, presumably.
And a couple of shorts.
Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note: This show is based upon a series of mystery novels aimed, I believe, at preteens and tweens. Manages to be warm and comfy, and the main group of friends has a bunch of believable characters, especially in their interactions with one another. Something of a reverse harem, although romance isn’t really a thing here.
Hakone-chan: A cute 3:30m show that really could be longer. Teenage boy finds a hot springs spirit and goes through a bunch of hijinks to help her find her powers or something. She helps him with his friends, with varying degrees of success.
I also want to try Concrete Revolutio, One Punch Man, and Heavy Object. Need to catch up on Noragami, too.

I didn’t know they were making a second season of Noragami. That’s cool, I will have to rewatch it so it is familiar again. I will probably wait until it has all been aired though.

I’m watching Lance N’ Masques, Hakone chan, and One Punch Man.
Opm has some gore, but mostly involving monsters.
Concrete Revolutio has some fanservice involving cleavage, and I’ve read that Heavy Object has fanservice of the barely censored nudity type.

I think the only ones I have seen that aren’t crazy or crazy violent are Princess Tutu, Kamisama Kiss, and Snow White with the Red Hair. All of which are in my top 5 anime right now, so they are good.
Maybe I am just confused about anime genre categories?
I am sort of taking a break and doing some reading (fantasy) instead. I will probably check out some of the new anime when I finish my current book series.

I thought that Hulu had a sub of Digimon, but I went and looked and it is just the dub, which isn’t terrible, but seems really childish.

Me too, though my favorites back then were Card Captors (awesome theme song) and Shaman King (also a good theme song) LOL. I don’t know if there is any redeeming value or rewatchability in those, but I loved them as a kid on what ever tv channel they were on.

Full metal alchemist is good and has a great story
Mushishi is a nice watch but doesn’t have a story arc to it
The devil is a part timer is hallarious(pardon the name) the show is about the devil loosing all his powers and he needs to work at a McDonalds to survive, and personally I think its best for 15+ due to language and to get some of the tounge in cheek references

Though lacking fantasy elements (except briefly, in one or two episodes), Princess Nine hits all my marks.

Oh, where did you find the Digimon Frontier sub? I’d like to see it.
I watched Shiki leading up to Halloween. Since then, I’ve also been watching the second season of K as well as the Blue Exorcist anime. I’m not sure I’m going to keep watching Blue Exorcist, though, because I found out about some anime-only stuff in it that might cross the line from “garbled portrayal of religion” to “seriously problematic.”

The anime I am watching right now is Akane ga Kill is pretty good but with a typical action storyline and some fan service.
It appears to me that yuri forms of anime seem to be heavily influenced by lesbian romantic relationships.
Do think you it’s to normalize the LBTGQ movement in Japan by showing Japanese youth that it is an acceptable behavior.
Also I felt that Attack on Titan was overrated as an anime overall along with Sword Art Online?

I saw blue exorcist, it was seriously garbled, but I didn’t think it was too problematic. It definitely wasn’t my favorite anime, but it was entertaining at the time.
Yes! Attack on Titan was overrated. (Kind of like the game of thrones of anime). I enjoyed Sword Art Online (though the Elfheim arc does get a little boring), have you seen the second season? I liked that one too.
Akane ga kill, is on my list of ones to watch. Right now I started Inuyasha, since I have never seen it “in order” but saw some episodes when it ran on cartoon network while I was in college. That was probably a mistake, but I was tired of trying anime and not liking them.

Yes I have seen the second season of Sword Art Online it’s not that bad for a sequel.
I really did enjoy it very much better than the first season.
