I think she has an abrasive sense of humor.

I don’t believe she is a bitter woman by nature. She thinks she’s being funny. But her writings are very sarcastic and I think more people would probably take her more seriously if they didn’t stop dead with the sarcasm (which is why I’ll read Susan Estrich’s column in spite of the fact we’re more likely to disagree than agree but not Ted Rall’s…someone that knows him a little better PLEASE tell me he’s actually not as nasty as he appears on paper).

But then again it’s very intentional sarcasm. Every new book creates a controversy and that is no accident.

Granted I believe Republicans are just using Christians on the Pro-Life issue.(end quote)

Thank you Stan, for at least admitting how they use the abortion issue as a wedge tactic. I really can’t believe how I got caught up in this impossible kind of discussion. It really does blind us to what is most important.:shrug:Carlan
I too find it hard to believe that you ‘got caught’ up in this discussion. It is you are trying in an attempt to drive a wedge so as to separate those of us who firmly are opposed to the killing of a life begun at conception. Where would your compromise draw the issue and who then might or might not be spared under a compromise? Might it be a one month old fetus, a three or six month life in the womb or how about the contention by one of the presidents recent appointee’s that an infant is not yet a living person and then goes on stupidly listing the social needs that would allow the infant to grow into person-hood.

The discussion only becomes impossible when there is offered by a few, even in the Catholic Forum, that abortion is simply a wedge rather than it being an evil fact; it is something best hidden rather than brought out into the open clear air; never should it be discussed except in the direction of compromise, And never they say should we limit compromise by demanding that the taking of a human life even in the fetal stage is evil to begin with.

Maybe some churches make compromise the essence of their biblical teaching and even appoint active gay man as bishops but to do so is not anything but blindness to the biblical word and even the use of a wedge will, it seems, never open their eyes.

Some would want that we should learn from many in other faiths like putting a miter on the head of a sinner is good and then go further and teach that abortion and such other issues are better compromised than dealt with as the evil deeds they truly are.

Seems Republicans are not just using the abortion issue, they are confronting and dealing with it as an issue which is the opposite of the democratic platform (or is it a wedge) that demands open access to abortion and gay marriage preferably paid for by all taxpayers?

Ann uses satire to fight for what she believes in, not the cutting knife used by the abortionists and their advocates. And for that she is despised.

Despise me too then for I stand beside her.

Lynn, you would do well to stand with the prayer warriors In front of the abortions mills rather than with the Ann Colters of this world. You should be asking the Mother of God for her intercession where you are a public witness.:gopray2: Carlan

Take this discussion to a political forum which this debate has become for most here.

Romans 12:13…
Have the same attitude toward all. Put away ambitious thoughts and associate with those

who are lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never repay injury with injury. See your conduct is honorable in the eyes of all . If possible live peaceably with everyone. Beloved,do

not avenge yourselves; leave that to God’s wrath, for it is written:“Vengenance is mine ; I will repay’,says the Lord”. But "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him to drink;

by doing this you will heap burning coals upon his head." Do not be conquered by evil but conquer evil with good.:signofcross:

Oh, I do more than just than stand in front of the abortion clinics; much more in my endeavor to eliminate abortion. How about you???

The Mother of God, Mary, is always in my thoughts and my prayers.

Seems to me that the issue of Ann Coulter is a political issue in that her expertise in her writings deals with issues that are directly linked to political discourse. But as usual when the liberal minded are losing an argument then they demand a change in direction. They are very good at that as easily seen in how they sign off on bills in congress without reasonable debate but instead limited review in fear of an open and honest evaluation.

I

I’d probably be in agreement with a few of her political beliefs if I had the heart to sit down and read about her. But due to her annoying, arrogant behavior, I steer clear of her.
annoying, arrogant (so called) is better than lying, adulterating, treason, murder…
Maybe we as a society should focus more on listening and peaceful conversation instead of mindless yelling and prideful boasting.
yeah maybe we should all just forget that babies are being murdered by the milliions… that our national security is being destroyed because of Political correctness … etc etc etc…

never mind Truth & Justice (and Safety) … we must instead only (& always) avoid “annoying, arrogant” so-called

hmmm… you obviously don’t have deep-seated beliefs…

God said He wishes we were “hot or cold… If you are lukewarm, I will spew you out of my mouth”

Oh dear, Distracted. Are you not willing to ‘compromise’?

I will add my voice to your own. 👍

To compromise on abortion is to retreat leaving behind the stilled voices of the unborn. To ignore those who are slaughtered is nothing more than muted sinfulness since to be silent all the while knowing what is going on is no different than enabling and thereby abetting the problem.

.
who are you to tell someone how best to serve the cause of Christian truth?

everyone has their own way(s) of doing that… We can’t all be Mother Teresa…

(not that too many are trying, that’s for sure:rolleyes:)

what if the evil is not being done against you but others - to the tune of millions of others…

what if no one is doing anything about it… except a “crazy” person here and there…

what if “do not be conquered by evil” means doing whatever we have to to stop people from being murdered by mass-murdering monsters?

i think you’re just too lazy to really do anything against abortion… so your rationalize not doing anything about abortion…

only God knows your motives but that is a thought i can’t help thinking…

they also resort to ad hominem when they are losing the argument… and they lost the argument the first time thye opened their mouths to defend something as indefensible as murdering the unborn…

as Ann said (How to Talk to a Liberal…) "These people are literally insane. "

and you have conservatives here calling liberals some pretty rude things too.

Let’s try not to make sweeping generalizations about EITHER side. There are rude liberals, rude conservatives and rude moderates.
*I coiuldn’t care less about rudeness

i care about God and Truth*

I agree entirely. My problem with Coulter is not that she is rude. Well, I do have a problem with her rudeness because I think it’s in appropriate–but that’s an ancillary objection.) It is that she says things that are untruthful, immoral, and radically un-Christian. (Most obviously her abominable statement about forcibly converting Muslims to Christianity.)

Well, I do not use the issue of the killing of innocents as a political football. I repeat have what this forum has become removed to a political forum and then you can exchange your political veiws and ugly exchanges with each other.:gopray2:C

But Carlan, has not the issue of abortion become a political issue somewhat like a game of football? You know, do not talk about it here but lets throw it over to another arena sort of thing?
Perhaps you should look at the real issue as being advanced in the 'Health Care, ugh) bill being proposed. Might you not see in it the furtherance of abortion or might you only see political and social issues worthwhile if spouted by those like Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Frankin and so many of the CINO’s who definitely use ‘abortion rights’ in gaining support from groups such as Family Planning who do not plan for a family but give advice in the destruction of a future family.:knight2:
Forgive me if I might bring up a rather non-lovable remark like - ‘Ugly is really ugly when defeat of abortion is treated not as an intelligent opposing political issue backed up by scripture but rather like a game’. :signofcross:

I haven’t forgotten. I want to change things. And NOTHING will be changed if all people see of pro-baby people is bickering and foolish, obnoxious behaviour.

Anne Coulter’s behaviour is NOT going to change things. If anything, her antics only make it harder on the rest of us.
