My husband and I were married by a Lutheran minister. Neither of us had ever been married before, nor did we have any children until after we were married. Neither of us were Catholic at the time, but we were married in a church and understood that we were making our vows before God and the minister was our witness. We converted to Catholicism two years ago and had our marriage blessed by our priest.
We are coming up on the tenth anniversary of our original marriage and I have noticed that there are some celebrations that our diocese and parish hold to acknowledge various anniversaries. Can we participate, as a couple that has been married for ten years? Or do we have to wait until it’s been ten years since our blessing by the Catholic Church?
