Annulment and Communion?

Can a Catholic receive Communion after she/he gets an annulment?
 
Yes. An annulment is not the same as divorce. It basically means that for some reason the marriage was never valid.

Yes. One doesn’t even need an annulment. If one is civilly divorced, which is a requirement before the annulment proceedings begin, and in a state of grace, Communion is allowed.
Why would you think the answer would be no?

And even if a person is divorced, it does not mean that he or she cannot receive.

Divorced and remarried while the first spouse is still alive is what would bar someone, not divorce per se.
 
Also keep in mind the “state of grace” thing. If you are divorced and don’t have an annulment you are NOT free to date or otherwise have a relationship that would not be okay if you were still with your spouse.

I never said I thought the answer should be no.
 
Then why ask the question…? If you are not expecting a negative answer, and an explanation of why not, then it is like asking Is the Pope Catholic?
 
Obviously a lot of people out there a lot less busy than I am…still I suppose you have to do something to fill the time until Fr Christmas arrives…so be good!

A Catholic can receive Communion without an annulment if they have not remarried and are not cohabitating or living a chaste life.

So I don’t know what your situation is currently.
 
If someone is going through the annulment process, and the staff at their diocesan marriage tribunal hasn’t explained this to them, then they’re not doing their job.
