Rose, the standards of valid marriage are not that high. If they were, you’d have to declare marriages null because someone was in love - which is technically a psychosis (it works the same and it properly clouds reason) or because he was merely young and not as emotionally mature as typical of his age. That’s not how it works. Reasons of nullity are strong problems, severe disorders. It’s not just being a bit of a mommy’s boy or hitting the bottle too much. It must be something that takes away, not just diminishes, the capacity to offer free and willing and informed consent. Rome overturns most of the nullity sentences which are appealed.
