Yes, two years ago now, the marriage was declared null from its inception.

I chose not to read the final Tribunal report, so I don’t really know for certain what the grounds were upon which they made their decision. Although, obviously, I have some opinions on the matter. šŸ˜‰

I’m glad for you. I guess that’s cool not reading the reasons… I’m sure as they say no one is to blame, and now, at least, you can get on with your life…
Thanks.

GMARIE -
What you wrote is phenomenal. A lot of the questions we’ve already touched base on, but the ā€œdue discretionā€ term is not one which we’ve considered, unless we’re talking about maturity. I never thought his barely knowing her would fall under this term, and I appreciate very much your pointing it out. The basic reason why he got married was because he felt he needed someone and it was just time for him to settle down. They spent most of their time together in the company of her parents, and her mother was basically with them all the time, even into the marriage. I think this girl just wanted to get married as well, with no consideration as to whom, but that’s my opinion. I believe, like I previously mentioned, she was engaged just before meeting my DH. The church thing just wasn’t their bag; can’t say I haven’t had my ups and downs. They didn’t attend Mass after marriage, either. He knew her family very well, like I said they were with them all the time. Some of the other questions you’ve posed are excellent. I’ve printed what you wrote to go over with my DH tonight, hopefully. You’ve been very helpful, and, please feel free to give any further suggestions.

I actually I was just agreeing with Liberanosamalo’s post, she deserves all the credit.

**Well, I thought I had responded to your comment, but it didn’t show up . . . so I’m typing again. If it is here twice, I’m an idiot . . .:o **

Well, actually, no. People who have read their Tribunal reports, and related documentation, tell me that it is pretty brutal sometimes in the analysis of the marriage.

I asked my advocate, ā€œis there anything I can learn from reading it,ā€; he said, ā€œnothing you don’t already know.ā€

So I decided not to read the report or the documentation and to continue living my life with joy.

A friend, who read her report, often uses it when she wants to take shots at her ex-spouse. I don’t choose to allow that much power to my ex.

*But sometimes I’m really, really, nosey about what might have been written . . . * šŸ˜‰

Oops, GMARIE you are right… I misread, and wanted to say that the questions posed by LIBERANOSAMALO were fantastic, and my apologies to Liberanosamalo! I wrote all the questions out that were relevant, which was most, and yeah he does remember her name - it’s too close to mine (what does that tell you???)! In any case, my DH is getting back on track, and with the number of questions you posed, it is of tremendous help for him. He looked over the questions today, but we’ll be talking about them for a good while till we’ve covered what he can remember.

I want to thank everyone for their help, and still would love to hear any (name removed by moderator)ut anyone is willing to provide. Going on the forum has lifted my spirits back up.

Many blessings and thoughts of gratefulness to all.
