Today, I went to go to Mass with the intention of going to Confession afterwards. When I got there, instead of the regular Mass, there was a Mass for anointing of the sick, a bit later. So I went to it and, as I have a condition, I went up and received the anointing. After Mass, Father said that the anointing forgives sins.

So my question is, does Anointing of the Sick forgive all sins, including mortal sins? Is there no need to go to Confession after this (until further sins are committed)?

The Anointing is not meant to be a substitute for the Sacrament of Confession.

At the same time though, if Confession is not possible, the Anointing “supplies” the forgiveness of sins.

From where I sit, I cannot tell you if Confession was not possible. I will go as far as to say that it doesn’t seem that way.

If you’re able to go to Confession, then go. That would especially apply if you’re conscious of any mortal sins (and please don’t respond to that part as it’s too personal).
