Another ‘champion of abortion’ becomes defender of life
🙂 🙂 🙂
In describing his conversion, Adasevic “dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from 4 to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence. The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat. One night he asked the man in black and white who he was. ‘My name is Thomas Aquinas,’ the man in his dream responded. Adasevic, educated in communist schools, had never heard of the Dominican genius saint. He didn’t recognize the name”
“Why don’t you ask me who these children are?” St. Thomas asked Adasevic in his dream.
“They are the ones you killed with your abortions,’ St. Thomas told him.
“Adasevic awoke in amazement and decided not to perform any more abortions,” the article stated.

This is really cool because I have recently prayed very specifically for God to give adamant abortion supporters dreams that could change their feelings on the subject.

All the logic in the world won’t change some people; sometimes it takes something as emotional as this…

I was in such deep denial years ago about what abortion is. It fell away in layers. First, I thought an aborted child simply returned in a better situation. Then I thought an aborted child wasn’t aware or awake yet and never knew he/she was alive, and therfore had less life to begin with. Then I thought a child wasn’t really a separate lfie form until birth. That didn’t last long, being biologically baseless, and soon I decided that some children come here just to visit and never intend to live. Then I decided that a small infant might choose to leave this world to escape sickness and weakness, but that didn’t last, so I changed it to a contest between the motehr’s health and the child’s and decided that an adult has invested so much in her life she has the right to do whatever is best for her health. But that also put the rights of the working over the unemployed, old people over young adults and so on. I eventually decided that the only time abortion is OK is when the mother’s life is in definite and extreme danger – the same level of danger that would justify shooting someone who has fallen on her chest in a collapsing shed e.g. or someone weighing down a lifeboat. So the rules of self-defense apply. Today I believe that the child is innocent of any intent to harm the mother and therefore ought to be given every possible chance to live, equal to the mother’s life, because both are innocent human lives. So I converted on that issue years ago.
But what moved me were the pictures. I didn’t make it a front-burner issue until I saw the pictures of little babies who had died crying, waving little fists, while adults cut their skulls apart and disemboweled them alive. It brought home to me that if abortion isn’t wrong, nothing is wrong. If doing such limitless violent deeds to such innocent, trusting, helpless, beautiful people has become a thing a normal member of a society can do, then that society is no longer functional; it is collapsing from within.

You took the long road. But welcome home.

Years ago, my H and I both were nuetral on the abortion issue. Somehow we were naive enough to buy into the “a fetus is just a bunch of cells for the first few months”…long story short, it took “in your face” sonograms to wake both of us up. (thank God he spared me from such a travesty as having an abortion) Some of the pro choice myths that people buy into, I am convinced is due to ignorance.

But yes, God is good! Keep praying!

Thank you for posting this story! I put the link up on my facebook page.

There is a pro-life group doing tv commercials for network tv; sorry, I can’t think of the name now. I heard about them on EWTN radio.

Can you imagine a 20 second ad showing the human fetus at various stages of development and finally, birth; in the background is playing “You are so beautiful to me” (with maybe some Catholic singer doing the vocal instead of Joe Cocker…
or
It’s a Miracle by Barry Manilow (can’t recall that song, but it’s listed as #50 in 1975.
or
Live Your Life - T.I. featuring Rihanna (2008) I have no idea what this one sounds like or what the lyrics are.
or
When I Grow Up - Pussycat Dolls (2008)
other suggestions??

I think there is something like this on youTube already, but can you imagine millions of people seeing the babies and hearing the heartbeat frequently on TV?? That would be awesome.

Then, maybe after 11 p.m. they could make a longer one with the last 5 seconds showing the aborted baby pictures – it would be really hard for those who are post-abortive to view, but there could also be a number to call for help.

If I’ve thought of this, I’m sure someone else has, too. Please let use know if this is already happening in your area.

God bless,
Mimi

You might want to check out this group and telling them more support will come from you if they do pro-life ads.

But what moved me were the pictures.
Burn that in you brains people. Just as those awful pictures of slave condidtions like the ship with slaves crammed in the holds, so the reality of abortion comes through in the pictures and people can’t hide in a fog of abstract gassing about rights.
