Another dumb question from me

I say the Rosary daily, usually in the morning, and in front of the Tabernacle before Mass on Saturday night. A few weeks ago, my work hours changed and I have to go in earlier, so I don’t have enough time to say it before I leave - so I’ve been saying them at night before bed.

Here’s my dilemma - sometimes I fall asleep while saying my prayers - not because I’m bored, but it just relaxes me. Being on the scrupulous side, I wonder if this is a bad thing. I try to say the ones I missed from the previous night, but I feel like I’ll never catch up. I know I probably could say them at a different time, but I like to be alone and have it quiet so I can concentrate. So my question is, is this bad?

Ask your guardian angel to finish the prayer for you should you fall asleep 🙂

You’re in great company! St. Therese of Liseiux complained that she used to do that all the time.🙂

I’ve done that too, and I remember that St. Therese said that since God is our loving Father, he loves us asleep. After all, fathers love their children just as much asleep as when they are awake.

Nothing to worry about…God knows your intent and won’t hold it against you for falling asleep.
Another thing you might try is praying the Rosary whilst driving to work…I find this is a great time since my commute is about 45 minutes or so.
It also helps me to be a much calmer driver and much more considerate to others whom I perceive to be not driving as well as they should be…😃

it is impossible for me to pray the rosary in bed at bedtime.

By the 3rd hail-mary I end up making a drool pool

I do the Divine Mercy chaplet on my commute (home, actually). Has eliminated all prospects of Road Rage while driving.😃

Sorry for not responding sooner. :o

Thanks everyone for your responses - it is especially comforting to know that:

😃

After thinking about this (and kind of praying about it) I have decided to offer an extra 5 decades of the Rosary for all the times I have fallen asleep. I pray that God will use this offering to help someone who truly needs His help. 🙂
