Another "good feeling" question

If somebody looks at a picture, not with sexual intentions, and maybe the type of picture is aesthetically pleasing, or let’s say you like a certain type of men/women and it makes you feel good to see a person like that, and you are not quite sure if there is maybe something a little bit sexual involved, but are not sure, is that a sin?

Attraction by itself is not a sin I hope?

(I wrote this after looking at pictures from a soccor game. I think like the type of guys from the one country , well maybe just because I like that country . But would that be a sin? I am NOT SURE if there was anything sexual about the way I felt.)

Scrupulous again? Or valid concern?

No attraction is not a sin. However, it is what you do next with that picture. Meaning - pictures can often keep an imprint in your memory for prolonged periods of time or even forever if it is that drastic. So therefore, in idle moments, it can often stimulate this image again and it may lead to impure thought. Basically, its a part of the pre-caution to shield one’s eyes by not looking. BTW, it is today’s culture that people are becoming more susceptible and more accepting of images displayed in magazine, tv etc. so don’t become immune to issues like this, even if popular culture or social norm sees it as normal.

I didn’t have any impure thoughts.
I get very scared about how far to take this.
I tend to feel guilty when something makes me feel good, because often the feeling comes in many different ways and what if one aspect of it has something sexual to it?

It scared me because I tend to be very hard on myself.
I could say now, ok, no more looking at any guys from the country you like? Which would maybe also mean, don’t go there anymore?? That’s how far I MIGHT take it. And on the other hand I feel this is an OCD thing again. Because I like something I try to make myself feel guilty about it and the OCD finds any kind of possible sin attached to it.

Just realizing - even the fear i fear now has this bodily component to it that I might confuse as being sexual… So… hm.

But still maybe it was a sin that i kept looking even if I felt it MIGHT be wrong?
But then, I know I am scrupulous…

God made us to be attracted to the opposite sex so we could find a mate, get married, and produce children (but producing children is not the only thing marrriage is for). How else are we to find a mate if not by attraction? It is no sin to look at a member of the opposite sex and appreciate their qualities, both physical and mental. Our sexuality is part of the package here–we can’t deny it-it is part of who we are. What is sinful is dwelling on lustful thoughts and seeing other people as objects for our sexual pleasure.

You can look at a picture of, or see a man who appeals to you and appreciate his appearance and be attracted to a certain type of man without falling into sexual sin. Attraction to the opposite sex is not a sin. I think you might be a tad bit scrupulous here. God bless.
