I hope so…

Then again, the activists will redouble their efforts to keep it open…

Maybe a change in attitude about the way people think about abortion

This is EXACTLY what is needed to finally defeat the evil of abortion. No amount of legislative activism will accomplish it. After all, abortion was illegal until 1973, and that didn’t stop women from procuring them. The minds and hearts of the American citizenry must suffer a sea-change in order for us to have a chance in this fight. That will be infinitely more difficult to accomplish than the inevitable repeal of Roe vs Wade.

Am I the only one that has a hard time celebrating the closure of abortion facilities when I know that these women are just going to go elsewhere because nothing has occurred to address the underlying cause for the abortions in the first place?

Abortion and infanticide has existed for as long as humans have. We will never completely eliminate it. The importance of legislation is at least enforcing a moral code on society.

Now that I think of it, did they make new ones that I haven’t heard about?

An overall collapse of the family structure of the US and the West, a culture that promotes absentee fathers and the disposable nature of life, from womb to tomb

No I’m not surprised because there are quite a few Catholics that really don’t see ending abortion as saving lives. They see it more as a social justice issue for the woman. And I’m not talking about the pro abortion politicians. Either they don’t really believe that life begins at conception or they can not grasp it because it is not seen. We see that with IVF. And because they don’t really grasp or don’t want to believe that a life is being aborted their focus is on the adult woman. If we truly believed that a life begins at conception and that abortion is the murder of an innocent human being then how could we possibly even think that keeping abortion legal is a good thing.

With a lack of federal funds, maybe they can’t survive, and now businesses that are closing have to stop their donations to PP?
One of the things I do is boycott the organizations that support PP. I get a list from Life Decisions International www.fightpp.org that shows what companies support PP and I avoid doing business with those whenever I can. It also lists non-profits that support PP and I do not donate to them.

Blessings

So… your entire post has exactly zero to do with what I said.

I’m not talking about the women. I’m talking about the babies who will continue to be killed just at a different facility.

You said that you are having a hard time celebrating the closure of abortion mills. So I can only take that as you would like to keep that option open because why? They are going to do it anyway? Ending abortion is about saving lives first and foremost. We can do that and still address whatever underlying cause exist including the one I mentioned.

I did not say anything whatsoever about keeping abortion facilities open. What on Earth are you talking about? Clearly, you have no idea what I’m talking about.

EDIT for clarity: I am not pro-abortion. Life starts at conception. Legal abortion needs to come to an end. We, as a society, need to address the underlying causes of abortion.

Because our society exists within a culture of death no one closure of an abortion facility is going to change the hearts and minds of society. They will just go somewhere else to kill their babies. So, insofar as there is now one less place where abortions can be carried out, the closure of this center as a good thing. BUT, I’m not breaking out the champagne to celebrate because I know these women will just go somewhere else to end their child’s life. Better?

Yes, I realise this. But especially now, when two generations have grown up being taught abortion is their right, all the legislation in the world will not stem the flood of killing. Repeal of Roe vs Wade will win the battle, but not the war. We MUST work to change the hearts of young people everywhere so that abortion can finally become a distant memory, in so far as we can make it thus. IMO, the answer is prayer, prayer and more prayer.
