Another question about Fatima

Is it true that our Lady of Fatima told Sr. Lucia a secret about the end of times and what to do? I always have had the doubt because many people don’t believe in this, but I’ve been searching and searching and all I can find has nothing to do with what I heard.

I only found it on Spanish sites where it says what Fatima told Lucia (which I don’t know if it’s true).

So that you are prepared and able to remain with life, since you are also children of mine, I will give you the following signs:

The night will be very cold. Strong winds will blow. There will be anguish and in just a short time there will be and earthquake that will make the Earth shake vigorously. At home, close the doors and windows and do not speak with anyone who is not within it. Do not look outside; do not be curious, because that will be the wrath of the Lord. Light blessed candles, since no other light will be able to illuminate for three days. The movement will be so violent that the Earth will move 23 degrees and later it will return it to its normal position. Then an absolute and total darkness will come that will cover the entire Earth. All malignant spirits will go loose doing much evil to the souls that did not want to listen to this message and to those who did not want to repent. To the faithful souls, remember to light the blessed candles. Prepare a sacred altar with a crucifix, to communicate with God and to implore his infinite Mercy. Everything will be dark and in the sky a great Mystical Cross will appear, to remind us the price that his Son paid for our redemption.

At home, the only thing that will be able to give light will be blessed wax candles; once these are lit nothing will be able to extinguish them until the three days of darkness end.

Also you must have BLESSED WATER that you will sprinkle abundantly all over the house, especially in doors and windows. The Lord will protect the property of the chosen ones.

The sites I found in English didn’t have this message there, so, can this be true? In Mexico, people really do believe this to be true, my grandma even told me this story once…

No it is not true.

Read a book or two from Sr. Lucia and you’ll feel comfortable that Fatima was a gift more than a curse.

I’m thinking with the ‘3 days of darkness’ this sounds like something I had read/heard years ago from an ‘unapproved’ apparition (I didn’t know at the time that it was unapproved!). Since I don’t want to talk about unapproved apparitions, let’s just leave it at that.

A couple of Saints have seen visions of this 3 days of darkness. Saint Anna Maria Taigi and Padre Pio are two that I know of. I don’t think it has anything to do with Fatima though other then to pray the rosary and ask for mercy during this time. Tim

I hope the OP poster remembers that you don’t have to even believe any of Fatima. The fact is that no one can have ‘faith’ in Fatima. (When I say this, I mean the faith that we have in God.) Even if you don’t believe any private revelations, you can still be a good Catholic. The best that we can do is study up, listen to the message and say, “judging from what we know, we either think it did, or didn’t happen.” It is my feeling that if a private revelation causes too many questions for you, you may be just as well off not dealing with it. That’s not to say the message, or revelation is fake or bad, but that it shouldn’t really be something you build your faith on .
