This is another question for ex-Adventists. In your experience, when Adventists get together for a bible study in one another’s house do they mostly study the books of Daniel and Revelation? Of course I welcome comments from those who are presently SDAs as well.

Yes they do study those but they also study a lot of the gospels and paul etc.

But they also have studies based only on the writings of their dead prophetess Ellen White.

Thank. Do you know what percent is bible study not including revelation and Daniel as opposed to E. G. White’s writings?

From what I remember from my talks with them, it depends upon the individual SDA. Ususally though it’s 50/50 with the Bible taking precedence of course.

It varies widely. The Daniel / Revelation stuff is often just the recruitment seminars. But will show up as a study topic from time to time.

Sabbath School ( Sunday School ) they have a lesson guide they study through which is generally based on either a topic or a book of scripture. This is issued nationally at a minimum but its not mandatory to use. As the “small group” wave sweeps the nation they are tending to use other sources for this.

A midweek is more the spot you might see the study of a particularly EGW book or home study groups. More home study. I’ve seen them study Messages to Young People, Education, Ministry of Healing, Desire of Ages and the like.

Thanks. This helps much. Do you know how much anti-Catholicism they discuss through a typical week?

Thanks again,
Annie
