The concept of being “open to life” does not mean that you HAVE to be FERTILE…
There are plenty of women who have fertility problems… it’s perfectly fine for them to have sex even though they can’t conceive.
Also, Natural Family Planning allows couples to embrace during the infertile phases of a woman’s menstrual cycle (you’re only fertile for about 2 days during your cycle
So yes, even though we are called to be “open to live” doesn’t say anything about fertility… it simply means that sex is to be done in a way that could achieve life - it must be completed, and must not be done in any way where you’re purposefully trying to AVOID conception outside God’s design - by using artificial birth control.

If you engage in a completed act of intercourse, you have completed the act as God designed it.
The Church has no teaching about sperm being “wasted” I’m not sure where you got that. If the act is completed, the sperm is going where it is supposed to go-- inside the woman.

Never heard of that one but ok…That’s sad though people prepare for 2 and only 1 makes it…Not to throw a crazy monkeywrench into your statement, but there have actually been cases where pregnant women have gotten pregnant AGAIN with a second baby during sex. So saying that the sperm is good-for-nothing or going nowhere isn’t exactly correct - if God has a plan, well then, He’s gotta plan.
Granted, not all of those “double” pregnancies end happily with two living babies, but the new souls had been created for eternity, and that’s pretty special.

Yeah that’s the thing I don’t understand because many women when they are pregnant won’t get pregnant again, as with my sister etc, so the sperm is still being wasted even though it’s in the correct area but not being used…but it’s ok…because it’s just going to be washed down the drain after the deed, yet it’s not a sin, but any other way or means it is?!
