Of course the bible takes place at a time and in a place. But it was not primarily written for historic reasons but to make God a part of that population’s history and to show how He worked in it.
You object to my following point and are alarmed by it:
The bible is a holy book to make us know the Lord so we could follow Him. The ONLY important fact in the entire N.T. is the resurrection of Jesus.
Could you think of something more important and share?
Anything else in the bible could be a bit off, or wrong, or whatever. (till now haven’t found anything - just making a point)

I can think of something wrong – where in the story of Noah, it says only eight people survived the Flood, but there has never been fewer than 10,000 or so people on the earth, except for Adam and Eve.
What makes you think that Catholicism, and many protestant denominations, are fundamentalist? Do you take the bible literally? Do you think the earth was made in 7 literal days? Do you think Noah saved every type of animal on the earth?
Did you know that the history presented in the bible starts with Abraham? From Abraham and on it is based on history. Before that the stories are based on fact but they’re told to teach us something and not to teach us history.
This is an important concept to understand. Maybe you should speak to a trusted priest about this?
