Not to question the gentleman who won the Medal of Honor for he was surely brave, but you “prefer” that to the actions of a Saint? Really? How sad.

During the preceding few weeks, Lieutenant Fox served with the 598th Field Artillery Battalion as a forward observer. On Christmas night, enemy soldiers gradually infiltrated the town of Sommocolonia in civilian clothes, and by early morning the town was largely in hostile hands. Commencing with a heavy barrage of enemy artillery at 0400 hours on 26 December 1944, an organized attack by uniformed German units began. Being greatly outnumbered, most of the United States Infantry forces were forced to withdraw from the town, but Lieutenant Fox and some other members of his observer party voluntarily remained on the second floor of a house to direct defensive artillery fire. At 0800 hours, Lieutenant Fox reported that the Germans were in the streets and attacking in strength. He then called for defensive artillery fire to slow the enemy advance. As the Germans continued to press the attack towards the area that Lieutenant Fox occupied, he adjusted the artillery fire closer to his position. Finally he was warned that the next adjustment would bring the deadly artillery right on top of his position. After acknowledging the danger, Lieutenant Fox insisted that the last adjustment be fired as this was the only way to defeat the attacking soldiers. Later, when a counterattack retook the position from the Germans, Lieutenant Fox’s body was found with the bodies of approximately 100 German soldiers. Lieutenant Fox’s gallant and courageous actions, at the supreme sacrifice of his own life, contributed greatly to delaying the enemy advance until other infantry and artillery units could reorganize to repel the attack. His extraordinary valorous actions were in keeping with the most cherished traditions of military service, and reflect the utmost credit on him, his unit, and the United States Army.

It is important to know that he was an African-American and in 1944, what did he have to go home to. That is why this Medal of Honor is most important.

It is not what you do, it is why you do it. If I sacrifice my life for my country, it will be because of men like him and not the people of today.

I though you were arguing the country was built by Anglo-Saxons. Lieutenant Fox was not Anglo-Saxon.

But he is a saint. Just not one that would be recognized by the Church. He sacrificied himself just like Jesus. What more do you want?

There will be a time in your life when you will be called to make that sacrifice. It may be great or small.

During WW2, a group of civilians were being crowded together so they could be executed. As the SS were setting up their machine guns a figure steped out of the crowd, a priest from their village. He walked over to the soldiers and said, “God watches what you do!” He turned his back on them and began to return to the group they had assembled for slaughter. The soldiers gunned him down before he could reach them.

Is he any less a saint than those whose names are remembered?

His actions were recalled by one of the SS soldiers who executed these helpless civilians. That soldier, now an officer, only wished now to die in battle. But in every battle he was in, he came through without so much as a scratch. He was destined to see what horrors war can bring to the innocent, and he envied them in their death.

There is nothing racist about it. **I understand the UK is going to prevent the immigration of people based on their lack of knowlege of the English language. **

I am actually against that as I have known people who spent their entire lives in the US and never spoke a word of English. As long as they will always be able to rely on a family member to interpret for them, I see no reason for them to be forced to learn English.

I ran into a interesting situation at a hospital on day. A woman from Iran was talking about her mother’s upcoming operation at the hospital. This women spoke English and was able to communicate to her mother in her tribal language, but her mother did not understand English or the common language of Iran which is Farsi. The hospital said it must be able to communicate with the mother through someone other than a family member for some legal reason. The only thing I could suggest to the woman was to contact the Iranian consulate and ask them for help in the matter. I was sure that the problem must have occured before.

The culture of this country should not be decided by the overpopulated neighbors to the south. I don’t understand why their problems should be forced on the American people.

That is not true. Nobody will be barred because they do not speak English. Provided an applicant for immigration meets all the pre-conditions required then after entry they will be required to become proficient in English.

By the way so I don’t misunderstand you, are you complaining about the high number of illegal immigrants from south of your border (I think somebody mentioned more than 10 million) or do you not even want them in America even if they were to come in legally?

During WW2, a woman was asked by the Dutch resistance to work as a secretary for the Nazis who had invaded Holland in order to gather information that the patriots could use. She was told that she could not tell anyone what she had been asked to do as there were many collaborators in the town.

She would sometimes be walking home after work and be beaten by people she once knew as friends but she keep the secret. That secret she keep until after the war was over.

Was she not a hero even though she appeared to be a traitor?

See I don’t see an Anglos-Saxon hill and a Latin American valley in Jesus’ message.

I know, I know, the law states… and they are disobeying or truncating the law… So what should we do about abortion? Wait the law is silent on same sex marriage (or at least that is what that activist group wants you to believe; there is the Implied definition of marriage) so are we disobeying the almighty law or are we following it?

One final question for you; let’s say you all of a sudden had a private revelation. That is Jesus himself appeared before you and said to you what of these Latin Americans what should I do with them?

Maybe I missed it as there are so many people wishing to defend the foreigners because they are in my neighborhood and not theirs. We can always be most charitiable when it involves someone elses money.

I find it fascinating that you defend a people that can’t even run their own country and yet try and sell the American public on how great it will be once they have control of theirs!

We must all understand the military strategy of propaganda. Quoting the bible to get your way is pathetic as God said that His word is the truth not yours.

I’ve also battled people on other websites that in my view, the true word of God does not exist in modern bibles because man put his filthy hands on it and edited it to fit his own agenda. Like you were just doing.

Where were our wonderful neighbors when the wars of the 20th Century were being fought. Taking a siesta I’ll bet. But now, they want to be our friends.

One night, God put this wisdom into my head: I’d rather have an honest enemy than a phony friend! I think that applies to our neighbors to the south.

The United States of America has spent more money feeding and clothing and giving healthcare to Mexico than any other foreign country on the American continents (North & South) and probably Africa, Asia, and Oceania, but Mexico is a bottomless pit that refuses to take responsibility for its own future by constantly feeding off of the US to the point that now they feel entitled to walk across the border anytime they wish and take whatever they want.

Did Jesus intend that quotation to mean WHOLE COUNTRIES?

Mexico is rated 52nd out of 177 countries as having a high human development index number by the United Nations. The US is 12th. Mexico has quadrupled its population in the last 60 years while the US hasn’t even doubled theirs. Why should US citizens be responsible for the lack of self control of the wonderful Mexicans. Calling it their “culture” is like telling cannibals, “Just as long as you don’t eat me!”

And last but not least.

I live in a community that is considered 80% hispanic. You would think that if these people were at least pretending to be good Catholics, they would keep up apperances by going to Church on Sundays or did the Pope give Mexicans a break on all sins like “Thou shall not covet they neighbor’s goods”? It think that means don’t break into your neighbor’s country and feed off of him.

I hope that answered most of your questions. Tell me, is “La Raza” the same as Hitler’s “Master Race”? Oh, no! That would make THEM racists now wouldn’t it!!

The story that I heard was that even if a husband was a English citizen, it wouldn’t make the wife an automatic English citizen. That wife would have to stay in her home or outside country until she learned the English language at her own expense. The story was about how expensive it was to have every document translated into various languages just because people refused to learn the official language of the UK. It was on the BBC about a year ago.

My complaint is that I live in the United States and people should respect our rules AND our borders. The people of the world should all get a chance at becoming American especially people from countries we consider allies. Just because Mexico is on our border does not give them any special rights to this country.

He may be a saint. I have no way of knowing…nor do you. But, it’s still odd to say you “prefer” his selfless act to that of Saint Kolbe’s. Why prefer? Was Kolbe’s a lesser act in your mind?

There is no link between the suffering of people in World War II and the illegal immigration issues in the US. This whole line of reasoning is ridiculous. Military invasion and occupation with the killing and oppression they entail is worlds apart from a large number of people immigrating to another country.

I doubt that God is disappointed with His Church coming to the aid of those in need…regardless of legal status.
