Hello, I recently graduated from highschool, yesterday, and tomorrow is my graduation party, which is also a Sunday. I’m wondering whether or not it would be sinful to setup the various things for it on a Sunday: tables, chairs, tents, etc. I tried to get alot done today, but some of the chairs and tents I cannot get until tomorrow, because someone else was using them today. I don’t know what to do, my conscience is always telling me to make sure not to perform unnecesary work on Sundays, I just don’t know if this would be sinful or not.

Please Help

Thank you

You are forbidden to do “several hours” of unnecessary work. Unless you want your guests to be without chairs and shelter from the blazing sun or the rain, setting things up is necessary. Even more so considering the inability to obtain the items on Saturday.

Set up and have a great party. Congratulations on your graduation. But how come the guest of honor has to do the work? 😃

Haha thanks.

I just always worry about doing something wrong, so i like to make sure.

Oh, for Pete’s sakes…

Can people be any more scrupulous?

I figure if God didn’t want me working on Sunday (housework, laundry, mowing lawn, taking care of the animals, etc.), He would have made me independently wealthy so I wouldn’t have to work outside the home, and could get all my housework done during the week…or at least wealthy enough to afford a maid. 😉

Sounds like it is very necessary to do…assuming too this is a “good” party not some evil one :)

Actually we are to avoid some of those things…it is the Lords Day.

(Unless real necessity)

Animals of course can eat …🙂
