Just wanted to add another 2 cents in for Shorter Christian Prayer. I’d love to get CP or the 4-volume LOTH set someday, but what I actually pray with now is Shorter CP. I have a personal/sentimental attatchment to the book b/c it was my grandma’s. She had the full set, but she used SCP. I never knew what it was, but most evenings at some point she’d go to her bedroom with her little red book to say her prayers. Anyhow, I see things about how it’s easy and straightforward and doesn’t need a guide, etc., but in my case…I could have used a guide. Even beyond the ordinary, in fact I couldve used a guide to the ordinary. Only recently did I figure out the invitatory and I also realized that you’re supposed to say the Benedictus (Canticle of Zacharias) every day. And how to use the antiphons came later, also. I’m sure that there’s even more I could stand to learn. I wouldn’t mind a thread or separate resource for SCP…
