Another year, still desperate for help and prayer

hi all, another end-of-school-year, another crisis. dh has once again been let go from his job. he is a special ed teacher and been teaching for 17 years, but because of a new state-wide retirement bill for teachers, he will be cut. simply put, not enough teachers from his district want to take the retirement. there were three teachers cut, and three others are eligible for the retirement package. if the three older teachers take the bill, then the three cut teachers would be called back and ok.

as many of you know, we have been heavily burdoned by credit card bills. we have BBBBBIIIIIIGGGGGG debt (now down to about $60k) due to stupidity, but we are being responsible and working hard to pay them off. if he gets cut, we simply won’t be able to make it. in early winter, our debt problems will decrease (can’t be specific), but that is many months off still…

i would ask for prayer…we really appreciate all of you here and feel very close to many of you, and we are positive that when this happened last year, prayers are what pulled him through safely. i feel strangly calm about this (or maybe still in shock), but I would ask you all to please pray for us. we will know for sure at the end of june and will keep you updated. thanks to all-twk
 
I know this isn’t much help, but, my sister’s sister, formerly a special-ed teacher, went to graduate school some time ago and has been now a guidance counselor for city schools. I remember asking her for a book recommendation for job searching at the beginning of her career. Albeit with debt, it will be tough, and, maybe graduate school has already been done. I wouldn’t worry if he had that degree of education! Another cousin went from mechanic to professor within his life. To depend on other’s retirement … is tough … he hopefully can use his skills elsewhere, or return to school. We, personally, just bought a Michigan made car … and, they are building new school buildings, in Ohio. I pray that your financial situation will not harm your marriage though, as my cousin’s change of careers did affect his, very much. He hasn’t seen his 3 children since who knows when.
