A few years ago I started falling into a routine. It was not a very good one. After a long day at work (stressed and unhappy) I would stop at a gas station, grab a six-pack of beer and something small to eat, then I’d go home and drink the whole six-pack. It started out just on the weekends, but then slowly became an almost every night event. I knew I shouldn’t have been doing it, but at that point I just didn’t care.

Why? I had a good job that paid really well. I had a family that loved me. But, we had recently moved, and I didn’t really have any friends. I spent most of my nights watching TV. Then I began enjoying a beer or two in the evenings. That led to a whole six-pack… some nights more. I was not happy.

One night, I started watching a Catholic TV channel. I don’t remember what was on or what they were talking about, but I decided that drinking every night while home alone was not the best thing for me. That night I asked the Lord to help me turn my life around. I asked for help in not drinking so much. I also asked for some friends.

Well, I would love to tell you that my life changed the very next day… but it didn’t. However, after a while, I noticed I was not drinking as much. Then I got a place with my sister and started hanging out with her and a group of her friends at her work. At that time, I hadn’t realized it yet, but those two prayers were answered. Even though I was still drinking more than I should, I noticed I wasn’t drinking as much and I had some friends. But I still didn’t feel happy.

Then, after one really long and stressful day at work, as I was driving home, the thought of ending my life popped in my mind. You would think that after a thought like that it would scare you enough to seek help. It didn’t. I shrugged it off and just told myself I was just having a bad day.

About a week later, I had the same disturbing thought. This time I caught myself thinking about it for more than a few minutes. It’s weird. The thought of taking my life didn’t scare me, but thinking about how I would do it DID! Right then and there I asked the Lord for help. I asked him to send me an angel to help me, to lead me in the right direction.

A couple weeks later, I was introduced to “the new girl” at my sister’s work. I will spare you the details of how we met, but we hit it off. She would come over to our place and hang out. Eventually she was hanging out with me more than she was hanging out with me sister. It was really nice to hang out and be with her.

After we met, things started to change. I wasn’t as depressed as I was. I felt happy and had a drive to become a better person. I wanted to change and I did. I started to feel happy again. Then it occurred to me, the Lord has answered my prayers! I wasn’t drinking like I used to, I had friends, and I had an angel that was saving my life, with her love.

I truly believe that I was in a downward spiral and that I might not be here today if the Lord hadn’t answered my prayers. He sent me an angel, and she saved my life. I may have never changed the direction I was going in, if it wasn’t for her. On September 10, 2005, my angel became my wife. I am so happy that the Lord not only answered my prayers, but also blessed me with such a wonderful life.

I implore you to please take some time and think about what prayers God has answered in your life.

Also, please take a minute to thank him for his goodness and grace.

Also, please consider posting them here for others to read. I feel sometimes people just need to read stories about what the Lord has answered for others, to remind them of what he has answered for them.

God bless, you, and good idea for a thread!

God has answered many of my prayers, although so often that it’s hard to really narrow it down. Often when I’m overwhelmed at work when being blasted with new assignments, I will put my head down on my desk and beg for mercy…and ALWAYS, God answers somewhow by lightening the load. And even a small grace makes all the difference.

Or I have asked for help in overcoming a particular temptation…and he sends reinforcements, distractions such as phone calls from friends at just the right moment, etc.

God is so active in our lives. We all need to open our eyes and see the blessings he bestows upon us in every moment.

He was driving down town disturbed since he had a hard day.

He had gone away from God and was quite confused:banghead: .

He wanted a parking and couldn’t find one so he yelled out to God

"God if your there if you get me a parking
I will be good and come back to church.

Right out of nothing and nowhere a person come out of a parking and the man took the parking.

Instead of thanking God he said Oh! never mind the parking God I’ll take this one???
