I am not sure what you consider courageous. Student protests are quite common. And comparisons of abortion to the Holocaust are also quite common.

the article said:
“As a Jew, it was extremely hurtful, because the Holocaust was the innocent slaughter of 12 million people through fear and hate of a country,” said Rachel Hollander, a UAA contract employee. “What one woman chooses to do with her body is not in any way related to that.”

I think its worth considering that invoking the Holocaust may be offensive. I understand why pro-life activists do so, but I am uneasy with it.

I think that it is time that the world would see abortion for what it is and it is at times a holocaust in the true sense of the world but more importantly it is the genocide of the free world that is happening right now. Millions of children have had their limbs torn apart; their head drilled into; their body dosed with acid, all in the name of choice.

Perhaps the strongest disagreement between protesters and students was the demonstrators’ claiming of a correlation between abortion and genocide.
“I think it was inappropriate of them to use the word genocide as they did,” said Sarah Roberson, president of Voices for Planned Parenthood and a member of STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition. “They just don’t understand the definition.”
Genocide: The systematic, planned annihilation of a racial, political or cultural group. [American Heritage New Collegiate Dictionary]. OK, so the newest people aren’t a racial, political or cultural group and it isn’t exactly a systematic annihilation. But it is a large-scale killing of people who have something in common, allowed by law, and that’s probably pretty close to how most people understand the word genocide nowadays, so I think it’s fair to use the term genocide for abortion, as an expression of the scale of the problem.
Ms. Hollander needs to learn more about biology. It’s not what one owman does with her body. It’s what the law allows millions to do to a new and undefended other body.

:hmmm:

Arguments could be made on a sub-topic regarding certain races. Remember that the average statistics put African Americans as 10% of the population, but African Americans equal 30% of abortions.

Or an argument could be made for cultures, such as the tendency for PP to put an abortion clinic in a low-income area and not just a regular health clinic.

Hyperbole doesn’t do are argument justice…it detracts from the real message.

What else would you call this slaughter of innocents, the most helpless in our society. In our country alone, since Roe v. Wade, 50,000,000 ± have been killed with the most barbaric and insidious methods imaginable. If this is not a holocaust I don’t know what is. This in no way lessens what happened to the Jews in the holocaust which they and others experienced. It is simply still going on, but through a diabolically clever twist of terminology is now called choice.

Good because that is exactly what abortion is! Abortion is infanticide and genocide! May I live to see the ultimate end of abortion everywhere! Hopefully abortion will end everywhere before Jesus comes back to take us home.

Pastors Accuse Planned Parenthood for ‘Genocide’ on
Blacks

WASHINGTON — The Planned Parenthood Federation of America has perpetuated a “genocide on the black community,” says a group of African-American pastors who claimed Thursday the birth control and abortion provider has had a racist agenda since its beginnings in 1921.

Holding a brief vigil and press conference in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Washington, D.C., the group of pastors and activists said they were incensed by the results of recent “undercover” inquiries into several Planned Parenthood clinics across the country.

“Every day … over 1,500 black babies are murdered inside the black woman’s womb,” said Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, of Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND). “This is a race issue.”
