Person,

Some percentage of allegers actually make it up in their minds that they were raped. Over a long enough time period, they start to believe it.

I am aware of laws requiring doctors and other mental health professionals to be mandatory reporters. The problem may be that they want priests to be mandatory reporters too. But priests have the privilege of not divulging-priest-penitent privilege. This privilege was recently tested in the courts of one state, and the long held law won.

Are the same tactics being used to oust Kavanaugh? Surely, planned parenthood could be capable of these types of tactics.

If they are willing to commit mass murder of unborn children, what’s a small lie or two?

And Feinstein gets the information and sits on it?

Unfortunately I don’t think anything’s being fabricated in the Kavanaugh case. There’s plenty of evidence that points to him being guilty. We could start with the fact that innocent people don’t usually have lists of women they didn’t rape sitting around just in case we happen to get accused. But just look at the way the GOP and the right-wing media are trying to spin this one. They’re essentially saying, “Look, we can’t ruin someone’s career over something he did as a teenager, because all teenage boys sexually assault teenage girls. Except this guy. He’s clean. Just trust us.” If that doesn’t scream guilt to you, you’re not paying attention.

There have been a lot of false accusations slung at Republicans over the past several years- being prepared for an attack with appropriate fortifications seems pretty smart for an innocent man.

He thought it might avoid a Herman Cain type of situation.

No, there have been a lot of accusations against Republicans that didn’t get justice, because Republican voters are barbaric. Just look at the death threats currently being made against Kavanaugh’s accuser, or the way Trump’s fans used the exact same intimidation tactics to silence his accusers during the election. Republicans in general don’t care what their candidates do so long as they’re Republican, and that’s exactly how we end up with a corrupt amoral narcissist as our president.

Very, very few sexual assault cases end with the offender being convicted. The number of false allegations is minuscule compared to the orders-of-magnitude-greater number of real cases that never get justice. Kavanaugh’s case fits the latter pattern exactly, not the former.
